Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme

Introduction

• Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme is one its kind of Health Insurance Scheme started by Government of Nagaland for the welfare of people of State.
• It was launched on 14-10-2022.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide basic health care facility free of cost to the people of Nagaland.
• Department of Health & Family Welfare of Nagaland Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Nagaland Health Protection Society is responsible for implementation of Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme.
• Government of Nagaland divides the proposed beneficiary in 2 categories :-
  • First Category is for General Public called CMHIS (GEN).
  • And Second Category is for Government Employees and Government Pensioners called CMHIS (EP).
• Benefits under Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme is also different for both the categories.
• For CMHIS (GEN), families can avail free and cashless treatment up to Rs. 5,00,000/-
• And for CMHIS (EP), families can avail free and cashless treatment up to Rs. 20,00,000/-.
• CMHIS (GEN) covers the following families :-
  • Families who are not covered under Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojana also known as Ayushman Bharat.
• CMHIS (EP) covers the below mentioned families :-
  • All the Serving Employees of State Government.
  • All the Pensioners of State Government.
  • Serving or Ex-Legislatures and their families.
  • State PSU, Corporation Employees.
• OPD Services and Standalone investigations are not covered under this scheme.
• Only Hospitalization, Day Care Treatment and Procedure both surgical and medical are free of cost under Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme.
• All the pre existing diseases are covered under this scheme from the day 1 of registration.
• CMHIS (GEN) are eligible to get benefit of more than 1950 medical and surgical treatment and procedures.
• Eligible person can Register themselves on Chief Minister Health Insurance Portal and then avail the benefit of free of cost cashless treatment by visiting any empanelled hospital across the country.

Eligibility

• Permanent Residents of Nagaland.
• Families who are not covered under Ayushman Bharat Scheme are eligible.
• Families of Government Employees and Pensioners are also eligible.

Benefits of Scheme

• Free and Cashless Treatment will be provided to all the beneficiaries covered under Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme.
• For General Public :- Free Treatment up to Rs. 5,00,000/- per family per year will be provided.
• For Government Employees and Government Pensioner :- Free Treatment up to Rs. 20,00,000/- per family per year will be provided.
• Facilities provided free of cost under Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme are as follows :-
  • Hospitalization Cost.
  • All Medical and Surgical Procedures.
  • Diagnostic Tests.
  • Maternity Benefits.
  • Ambulance Charges.
  • And Many More.

Documents Required

• Aadhar Card.
• Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate or Permanent Residential Certificate.
• Any of the below document of dependent for relationship proof :-
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Voter ID Card.
  • Ration Card.
• Self Declaration Form.
• PIMS Code. (For Government Employees).
• PPO Code. (For Government Pensioners).
• Copy of PPO Book. (For Government Pensioners)

How to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of free and cashless treatment by Registering themselves on Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme Portal.
• Beneficiaries has to choose any one correct category before going to Registration Form :-
  • General Category Registration.
  • Pensioner Registration.
  • Registration with PIMS Code. (For Government Employee).
• General Public can register themselves by entering their Name, Mobile Number and Chosen Password.
• Pensioners have to enter their PPO Number, Name, Mobile Number and Chosen Password for Registration.
• Government Employee can Register themselves by entering their PIMS Code.
• After Registration, Login with Registration ID and Password and fill the below mentioned details step wise :-
  • Personal Details.
  • Contact Details.
  • Dependent Details.
• Click on Submit Button.
• Separate Health Insurance Card will be issued to each beneficiary in a family.
• This Health Insurance Card will be used by the beneficiary at the time of availing the benefit of free of cost treatment at any empanelled hospital.

Features of the Scheme

• Government Employee or Government Pensioners can avail the benefit of free of cost treatment by visiting the CGHS Empanelled Hospital.
• Only those families are covered under this scheme who are not eligible under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
• Apart from self registration, beneficiary can also registered themselves under Nagaland Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme by visiting their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) with all the documents.
• Ration Card Holders doesn't have to apply separately for this scheme.
• Beneficiary can add up to 3 dependent children under Nagaland Health Insurance Scheme.
