Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana

Introduction

• The most common way to irrigate the agricultural land is by using the pumps which runs on electricity.
• This is the very expensive way which is used by farmers to irrigate their land because of high prices of electricity.
• This gradual payments of electricity bill put more burden on farmers income.
• So, Government of Chhattisgarh take major step for the welfare of farmer by starting new scheme.
• Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana is going to be the major welfare scheme for the farmers of Chhattisgarh.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide subsidy to farmers on electricity consumption so that there is no extra burden on their income.
• This scheme is also called "Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Scheme".
• Agriculture Development and Farmer Welfare and Bio-Technology Department of Government of Chhattisgarh is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Government of Chhattisgarh will provide subsidy to farmers on electricity consumption which is consumes during operating an Agricultural Pump. (Agricultural Water Pump)
• The Following Two type of subsidy on electricity consumption will be provided to all eligible farmers of Chhattisgarh :-
  • One Time Yearly Unit Subsidy.
  • Flat Rate Subsidy.
• In One Time Yearly Unit Subsidy, the below mentioned consumption of electricity units in a year will be free of cost to farmers :-
  • Subsidy of 6000 Units per Year for using Agricultural Pump up to 3 HP Pump.
  • Subsidy of 7500 Units per Year for using Agricultural Pump from 3 HP to 5 HP.
• And In Flat Rate Subsidy, the following amount is charged from farmers according to the pump usage :-
  • Rs. 100/- per HP per Month will be charged for use of Agricultural Pump up to 3 HP.
  • Rs. 200/- per HP per Month will be charged for use of 2nd Agricultural Pump up to 5 HP. (If there is more than 1)
  • Rs. 200/- per HP per Month will be charged for use of 1st and 2nd Agricultural Pump. (In Case of More than 5 HP Pump)
  • Rs. 300/- per HP per Month will be charged for use of 3 or More Agricultural Pump of 5 HP or More.
• There is no maximum electricity consumption limit for the farmers belong to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe.
• Separate Apply Procedure is not needed in order to avail the benefit of electricitiy subsidy under Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Kalyan Yojana.
• Subsidized Electricity Bill will be distributed among farmer by the officials of Department of Energy.

Benefits

1. Following Subsidy Benefits will be provided to those farmers who choose One Time Yearly Subsidy :-

   Type of Pump	Subsidized Unit
   Up to 3 HP	6000 Units per Year.
   3 HP to 5 HP	7500 Units per Year.

2. Following Subsidy Benefits will be provided to those Farmers who opt for Flat Rate Subsidy :-

   Type of Pump	Bill Amount to be Paid
   Up to 3 HP	Rs. 100/- per HP per Month.
   2 Pumps Up to 5 HP	Rs. 200/- per HP per Month for 2nd Pump.
   More than 5 HP	Rs. 200/- per HP per Month for 1st and 2nd Pump.
   3 or More Pumps of 5 HP or More than 5 HP	Rs. 300/- per HP per Month.

Eligibility

• Beneficiary should be a Resident of Chhattisgarh.
• Beneficiary should be a Farmer.
• Beneficiary should have Electricity Connection on his/her Agricultural Land.

Document Required

• The below mentioned documents is required to avail the benefit of Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana :-
  • Electricity Bill of Electricity Connection on Agricultural Land.

How to Apply

• Chhattisgarh Farmers does not have to apply anywhere to avail the benefit of subsidy under Chhattisgarh Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana.
• Electricity Department of Chhattisgarh Government will itself distribute the subsidized bills to farmers.
• The Amount of Subsidized Bill will be calculated according to the electricity consumption of Farmer.
• If farmer consume electricity within the subsidy limit then he doesn't have to pay any money.
• But if the consumption of farmer is more than subsidy unit then he has to pay the amount of remaining units.
