Uttarakhand (Pre-Matric)Students Scholarship Scheme

Uttarakhand government launched the scholarship scheme for the students studying in a recognized school who come under the category of OBC and SC/ST. The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class I to class X, including such residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government and Union Territory Administration concerned.

Eligibility

  • Must be a resident of Uttarakhand state
  • The student should be studying as an institutional student in a recognized school in the state.
  • Students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination
  • He/She is not receiving any other type of scholarship.
  • Annual income of parents / guardians of the student should not be more than Rs.44,500 / - for OBC category and Rs. 2,00,000 for SC/ST category.
  • In every school
    • there is a total of 3 students in each class from class 3rd to 5th , and
    • 2 students in class 6th class and
    • 3-3 students in class 7th and 8th class.
  • Scholarship is permissible to all students falling under the above income limit in classes 9th and 10th.
  • Students have to apply for scholarship in their school.
  • Committee has been constituted for acceptance of scholarship at every school level. Scholarship Acceptance Committee
  • There is a provision to make scholarship acceptance list available to all eligible students / students through the Block Education Officer and District Education Officer to District Social Welfare Officer.
  • The amount of scholarship for the students of the concerned school is transferred by the District Social Welfare Officer to the joint account of the school scholarship, which is operated by the headmaster and a teacher or headmaster and head of the institution.

Scholarship given to the students of class 3rd to 10th for 10 months:

Uttarakhand (Post-matric)Students Scholarship is a programme for the students who have already passed out their high school.and continuing their studies further. State government has taken an initiative foe these students belonging to SC/ST/OBC category to offer them a scholarship to provide them a little support for their education.

Eligibility

  • Must be a resident of Uttarakhand state
  • Should be studying in the interest of an institutional student in a school / technical / medical / management institution.
  • The student must have passed the examination of the previous class.
  • Students should not be studying in more than one institution in the same academic class.
  • Annual income of parents must not be more than the limit given below: -
    • Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe - Rs. 2,50,000/-
    • OBC students - Rs 1,00,000/-
    • Disable students - Rs 44,500/-

Documents required to apply for the scholarship : -

  • Income proof of parent / guardian (not more than six months period)
  • Caste certificate
  • Domicile Certificate
  • high school marksheet
  • Last year passing marksheet
  • Bonafide certificate of current school/college/institute.
  • Bank passbook of CBS account
  • Counseling certificate (for OBC student scholarship)
  • Disable certificate (for disable students)

How to apply

The scheme is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in.

Implementing Agencies:

The scheme is being implemented/funded by Ministry of Minority Affairs through the States/UT’s Administration.
