Introduction

• Lots of Population of Andhra Pradesh involves in Agricultural Activity to earn livelihood.
• They face lots of difficulties like crop loss, failures of borewells, high cost of cultivation, low cost selling of agricultural products.
• Sometimes due to this difficulties farmers takes very drastic step and take their life.
• After the demise their is no financial security available for the family of deceased farmer.
• So, Government of Andhra Pradesh started Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme to provide financial security to the family of deceased farmers.
• It was started in the year 2019.
• The main objective behind launching Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the families in case of suicide of farmer.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 7,00,000/- will be provided to the families of deceased farmer.
• This Scheme is also called "Andhra Pradesh Farmer Suicide Compensation Scheme".
• The cause of death of a farmer should be suicide.
• The cause of farmers suicide should be :-
  • Failure of Borewells.
  • High Cost of Cultivation.
  • Non Remunerative Prices.
  • Oral Tenancy.
  • Ineligibility to Avail Bank Loans.
  • Private Lending with High Interest Rate.
  • Adverse Seasonal Condition.
  • Heavy Expenditure on Children Education.
  • Ill Health.
  • Marriage Expenses.
  • Crop Loss.
• Deceased Person should be belong to any of the following category :-
  • Farmer.
  • Tenant Farmer.
  • Person whose live depends on Agricultural Activity.
• In case of demise of farmer/ tenant farmer, the first information will go to the Village Revenue Officer.
• There is no need to apply separately for Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme.
• Every Farmer/ Tenant Farmer are automatically eligible under Andhra Pradesh Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme.

Benefits

• The following financial assistance will be provided to next of kin in case of Farmer Demise due to Suicide :-
  • Rs. 7,00,000/-

Eligibility Conditions

• Permanent Residents of Andhra Pradesh.
• Deceased should be any of the following person :-
  • Farmer.
  • Tenant Farmer.
  • Person whose live depends on Agricultural Activity.
• The Death of Deceased should be due to Suicide.

Documents Required

• Aadhar Card of Deceased.
• Ration Card.
• Death Panchanama.
• Post Mortem Report.
• Death Certificate.
• Copy of FIR.
• Nominee Details.
• Land Record Details.
• Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

• Every Farmer, Tenant Farmer and Persons whose lives are depend on Agricultural Activity are automatically covered under Andhra Pradesh Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme.
• If Farmer/ Tenant Farmer commits suicide then the family of the deceased have to inform the Village Revenue Officer about the suicide.
• Village Revenue Officer will visit the house of deceased farmer/ tenant farmer on the same day of suicide.
• Identification and Scrutinization of Farmer/ Tenant Farmer Death will be done by Mandal Level and Divisional Level Committees.
• Mandal Level Committee comprises the following members :-
  • Tehsildar.
  • Agriculture Officer.
  • Sub Inspector of Police.
• Divisional Level Committee comprises the following members :-
  • RDO/ Sub Collector.
  • Assistance Director of Agriculture.
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police.
• After documentation, the financial assistance of Rs. 7,00,000/- under Andhra Pradesh Farmers Suicide Ex-Gratia Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of family of deceased farmer/ tenant farmer.
