Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana

Introduction

• Gujarat government has started a scheme for the widow women in the state, known as "Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana".
• They announced this scheme aiming to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries.
• That's why the scheme is also called as 'Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Arthik Sahay Yojana'.
• Under this scheme, the eligible women will receive a monthly assistance of Rs 1,250/-
• The assistance amount will be credited to beneficiaries account through DBT mode.
• Announced scheme is also renowned by other names; such as 'Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Pension Yojana' or 'Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Pension Scheme'.
• However, the scheme announced is not new, it was renamed from the earlier scheme called 'Vidhva Sahay Yojana'.
• The main objective of the scheme is to support widows women in the state by making them financially stronger.
• Women and Child Development department of Gujarat appointed as a nodal authority to overseen the scheme.
• Women age 18 years or above are eligible for Ganga Swarupa Yojana.
• However, applicants must cater the annual family income criteria, which is Rs. 1,20,000/- for rural areas and Rs. 1,50,000/ for urban areas.
• Earlier, women with a son aged 21 years or above were not considered eligible, but now such women's are eligible.
• Application forms for Ganga Swarupa Yojana can be submitted offline.
• Applicants can collect the application form from Mamlatdar, Talati, and nearest Jan Seva Kendra Office.
• To submit the application form offline, applicants need to pay a nominal fee of Rs 20/-
• Applicants must affix their all valid documents that have been requested in the applications.
• Concerned department will verify the application and documents.
• As of now, more than 4 lakh widowed women have been benefited from Ganga Swarupa Yojana.
• Beneficiary will receive the pension amount in the first week of every month.

• Under the Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Pension Yojana, the state government aims to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,250/- to all beneficiaries.

Eligibility Criteria

• To receive the benefits of Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana benefits, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria : -
  • Must be a widow women of Gujarat.
  • Women should be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  • Must be 18 years old or above.
  • Annual family income must not exceed Rs 1,20,000/-n in rural areas and Rs 1,50,000/- in urban areas.
  • Remarried women are ineligible.

How to Apply

• Applicants can apply for the Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Pension Yojana offline.
• To submit application offline applicants need to fill their applications first.
• Applicants can obtain the Ganga Swarupa Pension application form from : -
  • Mamlatdar office.
  • Talati Office.
  • Jan Seva Kendra Office.
• In the obtained form, applicants need to fill their personal and other details in the provided space.
• Affix the documents in the application form and submit it.
• Officials will verify the submitted details and documents.
• After successful verification, applicants will receive intimation via SMS on their mobile number.
