Introduction

• Jharkhand newly appointed Chief Minister, Champai Soren has announced a beneficial scheme for the women beneficiaries.
• The announced scheme is called 'Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana'.
• Under the scheme, the government aims to provide monthly financial assistance to all women, irrespective of their categories.
• With the objective to empower poor and needy women of all classes, the government announced this scheme.
• To receive benefits of Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti (Mai-Kui) Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana, applicants must meet its eligibility guidelines.
• As per the scheme, women aged between 25 and 49 years are eligible because women above 50 are already receiving Jharkhand Sarvjan Pension Yojana benefits.
• Around 40 lakhs women are going to receive benefits of Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana.
• To implement the scheme across the state, the government will spend 4,000 crore yearly and;
• For its successful implementation, the Women, Child Development and Social Security department of Jharkhand was appointed as the nodal department.
• Eligible women must submit their respective application form, to receive Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana benefits.
• However, the application form for Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana will be accepted either online/offline or through CSC Centers is yet to be defined.
• The government directed the IT department of the state to develop a dedicated portal for the scheme.
• Moreover, to raise awareness about the Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana, the government also organized various camps across the state.
• In such camps, the eligible beneficiaries can obtain scheme application forms and its useful information.
• Eligible beneficiaries are likely to receive the Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana benefits from August.
• Benefits will be transferred online to the provided bank accounts of beneficiaries through DBT mode.

Benefits of Scheme

• Under the Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti (Mai-Kui) Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana :-
  • The Jharkhand government will provide a monthly assistance of Rs. 1000/-.
  • This assistance will be provided to each women aged between 25 and 49 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• It is mandatory for all to fulfill the guidelines outlined for the Mukhyamantri Mai-Kui Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana. Failing to do so, applicants won't be able to receive benefits promised under the scheme. The detailed eligibility criteria are yet to be announced, and the list shared below is tentative and subject to change.
  • Applicants must be a native citizen of the state.
  • Only women applicants can apply for the scheme.
  • The age of the applicants should be between 25 and 49 years.
  • Anyone receiving benefits of other schemes similar to this are ineligible.

Documents Required

• Applicants must keep their following documents ready when applying for the Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana. Any changes to the list will be updated accordingly :-
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Address Proof.
  • Bank documents.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Age Proof.
  • Ration Card.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Other documents as stated in the guidelines.

How to apply

• Applicants who meet the eligibility conditions can apply for the Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana.
• The application form for Mukhyamantri Behan-Beti Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana will be accepted online/offline or through CSC Centers.
• It is also expected that the government will organize camps at various locations.
• From such camps, applicants can obtain and submit their application forms.
• In the obtained application form, applicants need to furnish their personal and other necessary details, along with requisite documents.
• The appointed nodal department will verify the received applications and documents.
• Applications that pass the verification test will start receiving benefits from August.
