• Each state and central government are constantly trying to promote entrepreneurs for their wisdom, ideas and ventures.
• For this, they have announced various schemes for these entrepreneurs, by doing this, they are providing a helping hand to future entrepreneurs.
• Kerala government also not far behind and has started many entrepreneurship schemes for its citizens.
• Recently, the Kerala government has announced a new scheme for Entrepreneurs known as 'Unnathi Scheme'.
• Earlier, the 'Entrepreneur Support Scheme' launched by the government is for the masses and did not meant for a particular community.
• To address this, the government announced this 'Unnathi Scheme' specifically for entrepreneurs from Scheduled Tribe categories.
• The primary objective of the scheme is to promote entrepreneurship among the ST communities.
• During the scheme announcement, the government has stated that the benefits will be extended only to applicants of ST categories.
• Therefore, applicants of other categories are not eligible for the scheme.
• Under the initiative, the government will provide financial assistance to each eligible applicant, which will help them to start their venture.
• The fund provided under the scheme can be used for the research and development, marketing, and new investment to foster their ventures.

Benefits of Scheme

• The Kerala government intended to provide the following benefits under the Kerala Unnathi Scheme :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs 10,00,000/- will be provided to eligible entrepreneurs.
  • Assistance will be provided for activities like :-
    • Research and development.
    • Marketing.
    • New investment, and other to start new ventures.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must read the eligibility criteria outlined for the Kerala Unnathi scheme. If anyone fails to fulfill the mentioned criteria, their applications will not be accepted.   • Applicants must be a permanent resident of Kerala.
  • Assistance will be provided for new ventures only.
  • Startup should be registered in Kerala.
  • Applicants must belong to the ST Community.
  • Both male and female are eligible for the scheme.
  • Applicants should not be bank defaulters.

  • Community certificate.
