Introduction

Punjab Ashirwad Scheme was started by Punjab Government for the marriage of those girls who belong to economical weaker section.
The main objective of the scheme is to offer economic support to families that cannot afford the wedding expenses of their daughters.
The nodal department of this scheme is the Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minority Affairs Department of the Punjab Government.
This scheme was launched in 1997 by the name Punjab Shagun Scheme, in which they provide assistance of Rs. 5,100.
On January 26, 2004, the Punjab government renamed the Shagun Scheme to the Ashirwad Scheme and increased the financial assistance to Rs. 6,100.
On April 1, 2006, the amount was further raised to Rs. 15,000.
On July 1, 2017, the assistance amount was enhanced to Rs. 21,000, and later to Rs. 51,000.
The scheme benefits families with up to two daughters.
Only girls from specific categories are eligible for the Ashirwad Scheme, including Scheduled Castes, Christians, Muslims, Backward Classes, economically weaker sections, daughters of widows from any caste, and Scheduled Caste widows or divorcees at the time of remarriage.
Girls who are 18 years or older are eligible to apply.
Applications for the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme can be submitted either before the wedding date or within 30 days after the wedding.
Applicants can apply through either the Online Application Form or the Offline Application Form available at the District Welfare Department office.

Applicants can submit the online application form of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme on the official website.
Register on the online portal by clicking the registration tab on the homepage.
Fill in all required details in the registration form and submit it.
A login ID and password will be sent to the applicant's mobile number after registration.
After logging in, the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme online application form will be displayed.
Complete all necessary information in the application form.
Upload all required documents.
Review all details carefully before submitting the application.
The concerned department will review all submitted applications.
After verification, eligible beneficiaries will receive the grant amount in their bank accounts.

Eligible beneficiaries can apply through the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme offline application form.
Applicants can obtain the offline application form from the District Welfare Department office.
Fill in all details accurately and attach all necessary documents.
Submit the completed application form to the District Welfare Department office.
Officials will review the submitted application.
After verification, scheme amount will be transfer to the beneficiary bank account.
