Introduction

• The newly formed BJP government in Odisha, led by CM Mohan Singh Majhi, presented its first budget on July 25, 2024.
• During the budget announcement, CM Majhi has announced various schemes for the welfare and benefit of the citizens.
• The government's primary focus is for the development of the agriculture sector and the farmers associated with it.
• CM Majhi Stated that, agriculture sector needs some reforms and strengthening farmers is their first priority.
• For this, he announced a new scheme known as 'CM Kisan Yojana, which will replace the previous government KALIA Scheme.
• The main objective of CM Kisan Yojana is to provide financial assistance to all rural and urban farmers despite their landholdings.
• Although exact details about the assistance were not shared during the announcement, it is expected that the assistance is probably the same as farmers received in the KALIA Scheme.
• Odisha CM Kisan Scheme is also known by other names such as 'Odisha CM Kisan Scheme, or 'Odisha CM Kisan Samman Yojana/Jojana' or 'Odisha CM Kisan Assistance Scheme'.
• Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment of Odisha will be the nodal department of Odisha CM-Kisan Scheme.
• Odisha eligible farmers are already receiving the benefit of the PM Kisan Scheme, where they are receiving yearly assistance of Rs 6,000/- in three installments.
• However, to augment the income of the farmers and to provide additional support, the government is launching this scheme.
• For the implementation of the scheme, the government allocated Rs 1,935 crore for the year 2024-25.
• To receive the benefit of CM Kisan Yojana, farmers must adhere to its eligibility guidelines.
• All rural and urban farmers, irrespective of their landholding, are eligible for the CM Kisan Yojana.
• Additionally, 64.79 lakh beneficiaries of KALIA Scheme are likely to be covered under the CM Kisan Yojana.
• The benefits of the scheme will be provided to those farmers whose name appear on the Odisha CM Kisan Yojana List.
• Once the Odisha CM Kisan Yojana is implemented, the government will release its guidelines and eligibility criteria.

Benefits of Scheme

• Under the Odisha newly announced CM Kisan Yojana, beneficiary farmers will receive following benefits : -

Eligibility Criteria

• The benefit of Odisha CM Kisan Yojana will be provided to farmers who meet its following eligibility criteria : -
  • Rural and urban farmers of Odisha.
  • Small and marginal farmers, irrespective of landholdings.
  • Beneficiaries of PM Kisan Scheme.
  • Other Criteria will be issued soon.

Documents Required

• Eligible farmers who meet the eligibility guidelines must provide their following documents in support of their eligibility : -
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Address proof.
  • Bank documents.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Identity proof.
  • Passport size photograph.
  • Land documents.

How to apply

• Eligible farmers can apply for the Odisha CM Kisan Yojana.
• However, the details of the CM Kisan Yojana application are not provided yet.
• Applicants can submit CM Kisan Scheme application form either online or offline.
• Once the details and modes of application submission are available, we will provide them here.
• Iit is mandatory for all eligible farmers to provide their necessary details and required documents in the application.
• Upon successful verification, the benefit of CM Kisan Yojana will be credited to the beneficiaries bank account.
