Introduction

• Various times it has been reported that the farmers' grains or other agricultural products rot due to improper storage facilities and conditions.
• This problem creates a huge impact on the farmers in both verticals financially and morally.
• To boost the farmers morale and provide them a safe storage space for their goods, the state government has started the 'Godam Nirman Yojana'.
• Scheme is also popular by other names, such as 'Bihar Mukhyamantri Godam Nirman Yojana', and 'Bihar Godam Nirman Scheme'.
• The main objective of the scheme is to help the state farmers and provide them a safe storage space to keep there agricultural products, which can be used when needed.
• Under this initiative, the government will provide grants to farmers for the construction of warehouses.
• To implement the scheme throughout the state, the government appointed Agriculture Department of Bihar its nodal department.
• Every year, the Bihar government issues a notice for the construction of Godam (warehouse) for the storage of agricultural goods.
• For the year 2024-25, the application process for the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana has commenced.
• In year 2024-25, a total of 154 warehouses will be constructed, with 108 warehouses of 100 MT capacity and 46 warehouses of 200 MT storage capacity.
• Farmers can build these warehouses on their own land.
• Government will provide a fixed grant under the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana.
• An estimated cost for the construction of a 100 MT warehouse is 14,20,000/- and for 200 MT warehouse it is 20,25,200/-.
• Grant under the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana will be provided as per the category of the applicants.
  • For 100 MT: General applicants will receive either 5,50,000/- or 40% the total cost, whichever is less.
  • For 100 MT: SC/ST applicants will get either Rs 7 lakh or 50% of the total cost, whichever is less.
  • For 200 MT: General will receive either 8 lakh Rs or 40% of the total cost, whichever is less.
  • For 200 MT: SC/ST will get either 10 lakh Rs or 50% of the total construction cost, whichever is less.
• Grant offered under the scheme will be provided to general categories applicants within 15 days of application approval.
• However, grants to SC/ST applicants will be provided in two installments.
• Benefits under the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana will be provided through DBT mode.
• Applicants can apply for the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana through its mobile application or online application form.
• Eligible applicants can submit their Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana applications from August 1, 2024.
• The last date to submit application form for Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana is August 31, 2024.
• During the application submission, applicants must present on the land where the warehouse is to be built.
• The exact location of the land will be captured through geo tagging, for this users need to keep their device location on.
• Any mismatch in the captured location found during verification will leads to rejection of the application.
• Farmers who have received the benefit of the scheme earlier are not eligible for the scheme this year.
• Submitted application will go through multiple verification stages.
• It is to be understood that, the warehouse can only be used for agricultural products, and in case of natural calamities, the government will also utilize these warehouses if needed.
• Applicants will be shortlisted for the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana through a lottery system, whose result will be declared on September 6, 2024.
• Additionally, a waiting list will be prepared, in case any shortlisted applicants withdraw their application or its details found invalid, the next farmer on the waiting list will be invited.
• Final Selection and issuance of work order will be done on 18 September 2024.

Benefits of Scheme

• Under the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana, beneficiaries farmers will receive the following benefits : -
  • Based on the capacity of the warehouse, the government will provide grants to each farmer.
  • Grant amount may vary as per the category of the applicant.

Eligibility Criteria

• Benefits of the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana will be given to those who meet the following eligibility criteria of the scheme : -
  • Applicants must be domiciled residents of Bihar.
  • Applicants must be farmers and registered on the Bihar Agriculture Portal.
  • Applicants must own the land.
  • Only one member from each family is eligible.
  • Farmers who received the benefit of the scheme previously are not eligible.

• Applicants need to ensure the following things before they proceed to submit applications for Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana.
  • Bihar Godam Nirman Scheme applications accepted through mobile phone and online application form.
  • User need to download the Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana mobile application from Agriculture Department of Bihar website.
  • The mobile application is enabled for android users only.
  • Applicants must submit their application form live from the location where the warehouse is to be constructed.
  • Enter the details correctly, as changes won't be allowed once the application is submitted.
  • Keep your mobile location on during the form submission.
  • Applications will be summarily rejected during verification if any mismatch found in the location.

• To start the process, applicants need to install the Bihar Godam Nirman Scheme mobile application first.
• To do this, users need to visit the official website of Bihar Agriculture Department.
• Under the Online Services, user will find the mobile application link.
• Open the mobile application, and select the 'Apply' tab from the home screen.
• Read the instruction and proceed.
• Enter the 13 digit farmer registration number and verify the details.
• Next, enter the other details such as : -
  • Register Number.
  • Khasra Number.
  • Total area of the land.
  • Total area of the warehouse.
• Applicants need to upload their following documents : -
  • Selfie of the applicants.
  • Jamabandi Certificate.
  • Signature or thumb impression of the applicants.
• Select the number of Metric Ton (100 or 200) of warehouses you are interested in.
• Tick the checkbox and press the save tab.
• Submitted application will go through some verification stages.
• Selection or rejection of the submitted application will be informed through SMS.

through online portal

• Applicants can submit their Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana application online.
• The online application form link for Bihar Godam Nirman Yojana is available at Agriculture department website.
• On the home page, select the 'Godam Nirman' link from the 'Online Services' Tab.
• Currently, the link is not active, but once its available user can proceed with the following process.
• Enter your 13 digit farmer registration number.
• Provide the details of your land and upload the documents.
• Post submitting these details, your Godam Nirman application is submitted.
• Agriculture department and its team will verify the details.
• Updates regarding the accepting or rejection of application will be informed through SMS.
