Introduction

• Rajasthan is renowned worldwide for its tourism and hospitality, attracting lakhs of tourists round the year.
• Such a number of tourists significantly boosts the economy of the country and open up a huge number of employment opportunities for its citizens in different fields.
• Tourists, in large numbers, are keen to know about the culture, folk art, and heritage of this region.
• However, there is a shortage of individuals who are capable enough to provide detailed information to these tourists about Rajasthan's rich culture, folk art, and historical sites located here.
• To cater to this issue, the Government of Rajasthan has devised a solution.
• During the 2024-25 budget announcement, the state finance minister proposed to implement a new programme.
• The name of the programme is "Mukhyamantri Paryatan Kaushal Vikas Programme."
• Under this programme, eligible youth and folk artists from the state will receive training.
• During training, the beneficiary will be trained as tourist guide where they will learn skills like hospitality and the traditional folk art of the state.

• Mukhyamantri Paryatan Kaushal Vikas Programme was announced recently and its application process and guidelines are unavailable.
