- Uttarakhand Sushma Swaraj Award was started by Uttarakhand Government in 2020 by the then Chief Minister Teerath Singh Rawat.
- Then from the very next year in 2021, the first Uttarakhand Sushma Swaraj Award will be given.
- This Award is given in the name of Late Smt. Sushma Swaraj.
- She was an Eminent Indian Politician and served as a Minister of External Affairs from 2014 to 2019.
- She was known as Ajatashatru Woman Politician of Indian Politics.
- Under Uttarakhand Sushma Swaraj Award, Government will honor the women of the Uttarakhand State who did exemplary work in various fields.
- The field recognised for Sushma Swaraj Award are as follows :-
- Education.
- Social Justice.
- Women Empowerment.
- Sports.
- Only Women are eligible to receive the Uttarakhand's Sushma Swaraj Award.
- On March 12th, 2023, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Sh. Pushkar Singh Dhami honoured 26 women by providing Sushma Swaraj Award in a programme organized by Mahanagar Mahila Morcha Dehradun.
