Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme

Introduction

• Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme is a flagship scheme of Uttarakhand Government for the welfare of youth of the State.
• The announcement of this scheme was made by the Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami during the employment fair on 20-02-2023.
• Many youths of the state prepare for Competitive Exams to get Government Jobs.
• But they are not able to get the basic facilities which a youth needs for the preparation of competitive exams.
• Many youths of the state are not financially strong enough to take admission in big coaching institutes.
• Keeping all these things in mind, two important schemes have been started by the Government of Uttarakhand.
• The first scheme is the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Utthan Scheme, under which the youth of the state will be given free coaching for competitive examinations.
• On the other hand, under Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme, youth will be given basic facilities for preparation for competitive examination.
• Under Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme, the following basic facilities will be given to the youth :-
  • Departmental Hostel for Living.
  • Establishment of Library for Reading.
  • Help Center for Problem Solving related to Exams.
• Under the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme, a hostel will be constructed for the students to stay during their studies.
• Similarly, a library will be established in every district for the students to have access to good books.
• These libraries can be used by students during their preparation and also by teachers and community members.
• Similarly, help desk centers will be set up in every district to redress the problems faced during competitive examinations.
• Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme will make it easier for the students to prepare for competitive exams.
• Soon the details and method of application of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Gyankosh Scheme will be issued by the government.

Benefits of the Scheme

• Under Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Gyankosh Scheme, the eligible beneficiaries will get the following benefits :-
  • Accommodation Facility in Departmental Hostel.
  • Libraries will be made by the Government which will be used by the Students preparing for Competitive Exams.
  • Helpdesk Center will be made in which problems related to Competitive Examinations will be resolved.
