Maharashtra Pink E Rickshaw Scheme

Introduction

• Government of Maharashtra presents its supplementary budget on 28th of June 2024.
• So, with an objective to increase the self employment opportunity for women of state and to ensure the safe travel of women, a new scheme was announced by Deputy CM Sh. Ajit Pawar.
• The name of Scheme is "Pink E Rickshaw Scheme".
• This scheme of Maharashtra Government will open the doors of self employment for women to earn more for their family in a respected manner.
• Also this scheme will also ensure the safety of women while travelling.
• Government of Maharashtra now support the women of state financially to purchase an E Rickshaw.
• Financial Assistance will be provided under Pink E Rickshaw Scheme of Maharashtra Government to all women who are willing to purchase an E Rickshaw for employment.
• This Pink E Rickshaw's will only be used to transport women passengers from one place to another.
• Right now it is not clear whether direct financial assistance will be provided to beneficiary women or a subsidy will be provided to purchase E Rickshaw.
• According to Government sources, a maximum financial assistance of Rs. 80,000/- will be provided to purchase an E Rickshaw under Maharashtra Government's Pink E Rickshaw Scheme.
• Pink E Rickshaw Scheme will be implemented in Maharashtra in phased manner.
• In first phase 10,000 women of 17 cities of Maharashtra will be selected for financial assistance to purchase E Rickshaw under Maharashtra Pink E Rickshaw Scheme.
• Government allocated a budget of Rs. 80 Crore for this financial year for better implementation of this scheme.
• Very soon the concerned department will draft the guidelines of Pink E-Rickshaw Scheme.
• That guidelines consist application form, application process, eligibility criteria of the scheme.
• Application Process of Pink E Rickshaw Scheme is also not clear yet at this scheme.
• As soon as we get any update about Maharashtra Government Pink E Rickshaw Scheme, we will update the same.

Benefits of Scheme

• Government of Maharashtra will provide the following benefits to all eligible women of State under its newly announced Pink E Rickshaw Scheme :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to purchase E Rickshaw.
  • Maximum Financial Assistance of Rs. 80,000/- will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

• Financial Assistance to Purchase E Rickshaw will be provided to only those women beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Maharashtra Pink E Rickshaw Scheme :-
  • Beneficiary Women should be a Permanent Resident of Maharashtra.
  • Beneficiary Women should have a Valid Driving License.
  • Remaining Eligibility will be released soon.

Documents Required

• Documents that are expected to be required at the time of applying for financial assistance to purchase E Rickshaw under Pink E Rickshaw Scheme of Maharashtra Government are as follows :-
  • Residence Proof of Maharashtra.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Driving License.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Passport Size Photo.

How to Apply

• Pink E Rickshaw Scheme was announced by Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sh Ajit Pawar while presenting the supplementary budget on 28-06-2024.
• Concerned Department of Maharashtra Government will draft the Guidelines of Pink E Rickshaw Scheme.
• Guidelines will be released for public after cabinet gave their approval for implementation of this scheme.
• Application Form of Maharashtra Pink E Rickshaw Scheme along with other major information will be available after the release of guidelines.
• Maharashtra Government decides the application process whether to accept application form of Pink E Rickshaw Scheme through Online Application Form or through Online Application Form.
• Pink E Rickshaw Scheme Website might also launch if the mode of application is through Online Application Form.
• Offline Application Form of Maharashtra Pink E Rickshaw Scheme can also be available at the District Office of Women and Child Development Department and Regional Transport Office.
• Beneficiary Women will have to wait little bit more in order to purchase the E Rickshaw under Pink E Rickshaw Scheme of Maharashtra Government.
