Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme

Introduction

• "Tamil Nadu Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme" is one of the women welfare schemes launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
• The Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment of Tamil Nadu is the nodal department for this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to abolish caste and community discrimination by encouraging inter-caste marriage.
• Under this scheme, financial assistance for marriage will be provided to inter-caste marriage couples.
• Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is part of the Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• There are two following categories defined for beneficiaries under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme:-
  • Non-Graduate Applicant.
  • Graduate or Diploma Holder Applicant.
• Under this scheme, Non-Graduate Applicants will receive financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/-.
• While Graduate Applicants will receive financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/-.
• Additionally, both Graduate and Non-Graduate couples will receive a 22-carat gold coin weighing 8 grams for Thirumangalyam.
• Beneficiaries can avail the benefits of the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme by applying through the Common Service Center (CSC).

Benefits of the Scheme

• Under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme following benefits will be provided to the eligible beneficary couple:-

  Beneficary	Benefits
  For Non Graduate Applicant	Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- Rs. 15,000/- through Electronic Clearing Service. Rs. 10,000/- as National Savings Certificate. 8 Grams 22 Carat Gold Coin.
  For Graduate and Diploma Holder Applicant	Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- Rs. 30,000/- through Electronic Clearing Service. Rs. 20,000/- as National Savings Certificate. 8 Grams 22 Carat Gold Coin.

Eligibility Criteria

• Those couples who fulfilled the below mentioned eligibility conditions are eligible to avail the benefit under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme:-
  • Couple should be a resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • One of the spouse should be belong to SC/ST community.
  • No income limit.
  • Age of Bride should be 18 Years.
  • Age of Groom should be above 21 years.
  • No Minimum Educational Qualification Required.

• The following documents are required at the time of applying for financial assistance under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme:-
  • Marriage Certificate.
  • Bride Educational Certificate.
  • Community Certificate.
  • Residence proof of Tamil Nadu.
  • Age Proof of Bride and Bride Groom.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Marriage Photo.

How to Apply

• To avail the benefit of Tamil Nadu Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, beneficiary can apply through nearest Common Service Center.
• The agent fill the form and upload the required document on behalf of the beneficiary.
• After that the Application Form and Documents of the beneficiary will be scrutinized by the District Social Welfare Officer.
• Beneficiary will be informed through SMS or Email in case of accept and reject of the application.
• Once accepted, the amount of financial assistance will be transferred into the bank account of beneficiary.

Features of the Scheme

• Beneficiary can apply for the Tamil Nadu Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme Within 2 Years from Date of Marriage.
• Bride and Groom age should be 18 Years and 21 Years Completed respectively.
• In Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, beneficiaries can be eligible only if:-
  • One Spouse is from Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Community and Other from a different Community.
  • One Spouse is from Forward Community and other from Backward Class or Most Backward Class Community.
• The following educational qualifications are required to avail benefits under "Tamil Nadu Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Intercaste Marriage Assistance Scheme":-
  • For cash assistance of Rs 25,000/-, bride should have studied 10th Std pass or if bride belongs to Scheduled Tribe then she should have studied up to V Std.
  • For cash assistance of Rs 50,000/-, bride should have holds a graduation degree from regular colleges, Distance education / Government recognized Open University. For diploma holders it is necessary to qualified from the Institution recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
