Jharkhand 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme

Introduction

• Jharkhand Government started 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme in the month of August 2022.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is reduce the financial burden of people of Jharkhand by providing them subsidy in electricity.
• Jharkhand Government's Department of Energy is the nodal department of this scheme.
• 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme is also called "Jharkhand 100 Unit Muft Bijli Yojana" or "Jharkhand Free Electricity Scheme".
• Government of Jharkhand is providing free of cost domestic electricity to all eligible residents of Jharkhand.
• Free of Cost Electricity will only applicable up to the consumption of 100 Units of Electricity per months.
• This means that under Jharkhand 100 Units Free Electricity Scheme, no charges of electricity is payable if the monthly electricity consumption of any user is less than 100 Units.
• Energy Department will disburse Zero Amount Electricity Bill to every consumer whose monthly electricity consumption is below 100 Units.
• Only Domestic Electricity Connection Beneficiary are eligible to get free of cost electricity up to 100 Units under Jharkhand 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme.
• It is to be estimated that more than 18 Lakh residents of Jharkhand is getting benefit of free electricity under this scheme.
• Now there is no need to pay any electricity charges if the monthly electricity consumption of any household is not more than 100 Units per month.
• No Application Procedure is needed to avail the benefit of Jharkhand 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme.

• Free of Cost Electricity will be Provided.
• Beneficiary doesn't have to pay any charges up to 100 Unit per Month Electricity Consumption.
• Domestic Electricity Connection Users will get Free of Cost Electricity up to 100 Units.

Eligibility

• Beneficiary should be a Resident of Jharkhand.
• Beneficiary should have Domestic Electricity Connection.
• The Monthly Electricity Consumption of Beneficiary should not be more than 100 Units.
• Beneficiary residing in Both Urban and Rural Area are Eligible for Free Electricity.

Documents Required

• The below mentioned documents is required to avail the benefit of free electricity under Jharkhand 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme :-
  • Domestic Electricity Bill.

How to Apply

• There is no need to apply separately for Jharkhand Government's 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme.
• Domestic Electricity Consumers of Jharkhandwill automatically get Zero Amount Bills if there monthly electricity consumption is less than 100 Units.
• This means that people of Jharkhand doesn't have to pay single penny for electricity if their domestic electricity consumption per month is not more than 100 units.
• But if the monthly electricity consumption of any user is more than 100 units per month then they have to pay the electricity charges on excess units.
• In case of any query or complaint regarding Jharkhand 100 Unit Free Electricity Scheme, Beneficiary can visit their nearest office of electricity department.
