Introduction

• Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme is one of the pre poll promise of Congress Party which they promised to fulfill if they form a Government in Karnataka State.
• Now Government of Karnataka is going to implement the Gruha Jyothi Scheme in whole of Karnataka.
• Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme is going to be the major welfare scheme for the people of Karnataka State after its implementation.
• The main objective behind launching Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme is to provide support to the households of Karnataka in this era of inflation.
• Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme is also called :- "Karnataka Free Electricity Scheme" in which free of cost electricity will be provided to every household of Karnataka.
• Under Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme, Government of Karnataka will provide 200 Units of Electricity per Month Free of Cost to every household of Karnataka.
• This means, no electricity charge will be paid by those households under Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme who consumes less than 200 units of electricity per month.
• Permanent Residents of Karnataka who has household electricity connection at home are eligible to avail the benefit of free of cost electricity under Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• If any household consumes more than 200 Units of Electricity per month then those households are not eligible/ ineligible to get free of cost electricity under Karnataka Government's Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• No Free Electricity will be provided to those consumers who has commercial connection in their name.
• Tenant Residents are also eligible for free of cost electricity up to 200 units under Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• Subsidized Electricity Bill will be generated to the eligible household of Karnataka from 1st of August 2023. (For July 2023 Consumption).
• Eligible Household have to register themselves first to avail the free of cost electricity under Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• Registration of Gruha Jyothi Scheme is started from 18th of June 2023.

  • Aadhar Card.
  • Electricity Connection Number.
  • Voter Identity Card.
  • Rent/ Lease Agreement. (In Case of Tenant Beneficiary)
  • Mobile Number.

Online Application Procedure of Gruha Jyothi Scheme

• Eligible Household Beneficiary can avail the benefit of free electricity up to 200 units by filling the Online Application Form of Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme is available on Seva Sindhu Portal of Government of Karnataka.
• Beneficiary has to Register themselves first.
• Aadhar Card is mandatorily needed for beneficiary registration.
• Fill the below mentioned details in Registration Form :-
  • ESCOM Name.
  • Connection ID.
  • ESCOM Account Holder Name.
  • Account Holder Address.
  • Aadhar Number.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Name of Applicant
• Preview the Application Form of Gruha Jyothi Scheme and Click on Submit Button to submit the application form.
• Submitted Applications of Gruha Jyothi Scheme will scrutinized by the concerned officials.
• After scrutiny of applications, zero electricity bill will be generated of those beneficiaries whose monthly electricity consumption is below 200 units per month.
