Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme

Introduction

• Karnataka SC Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government towards removing the caste based discrimination.
• It was started in the year 2015.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to remove casteism from the society and make every person of Karnataka par with each other without caste based discrimination.
• Commissionerate of Social Welfare of Karnataka Government is the nodal agency of this scheme.
• Under Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme, Government of Karnataka will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,50,000/- to Bride Groom and Rs. 3,00,000/- to Bride.
• As it is clear from the name that it is a inter caste marriage assistance scheme, so it is mandatory that either couple should be belong to Schedule Caste Category.
• Financial Assistance under Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme is only provided to those Schedule Caste residents of Karnataka who marries a Non Schedule Caste Hindu Person.
• The Annual Family Income of Married Couple should not be more than Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
• Marriages held after 01-04-2018 are eligible for financial assistance under Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• It is mandatory to apply for financial assistance within 1 year of marriage.
• Application received for financial assistance after 1 year will not be considered at any cost.
• Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Benefits

• The following financial assistance will be provided to Married Couples of Karnataka if either of the Bride or Bride Groom belongs to the Schedule Caste Category :-
  • Rs. 2,50,000/- will be given to Men (Groom).
  • Rs. 3,00,000/- will be given to Women (Bride).

Eligibility

• Groom and Bride should be a Permanent Residents of Karnataka.
• Any One i.e. Bride or Bride Groom should be belong to Schedule Caste Category.
• Marriage should be held after 01-04-2018.
• The Annual Family Income of Couple should be below Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
• Application should be submitted within 1 year of marriage.

How to Apply

• Applicant can apply for financial assistance under Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka Government's Schedule Caste Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is available on Department of Social Welfare Website.
• Applicant has to Register by entering Aadhar Number of herself and the Aadhar Number of Spouse.
• After Registration fill the personal details, contact details and marriage details, bank account details of Bride and Bride Groom in the Application Form.
• Upload all the mandatory documents in the portal.
• Preview the Application Form and Submit it.
• Print the Acknowledgement Receipt and secure it for future reference.
• Application Form along with all the documents will be scrutinized by the District Social Welfare Officer.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka SC Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of beneficiary.
