Introduction

• Most people's livelihood is depend on the animal keeping business in Madhya Pradesh.
• Animal Keepers faces jolt when there is a sudden demise of there animal.
• They have no protection regarding that and they are not that much financially stable to purchase a new animal.
• Keeping these things in mind, Government of Madhya Pradesh started new scheme for Animal Keepers of State.
• Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana is going to be the major welfare scheme for Animal Keepers of Madhya Pradesh.
• The main objective behind launching Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana is to provide financial security cover to all animal keepers of state.
• State Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation of Madhya Pradesh Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana is also known by some other names in state such as :-
  • "Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Beema Yojana".
  • "Madhya Pradesh Animal Insurance Scheme".
  • "Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Scheme".
• Under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana, Animals of Animal Keepers will be insured.
• Maximum 5 Animals will be insured under this scheme.
• Government of Madhya Pradesh will provide the financial assistance through Insurance Companies in case of death of insured animal.
• Animal Keepers of State will insured any animal with a maximum limit of 5 under Pashudhan Bima Yojana.
• This scheme is not totally free for animal keepers.
• Animal Keepers will have to pay a subsidized rates of insurance premium as mentioned below :-
  • For Above Poverty Line Animal Keepers :- Insurance Premium Amount is 50%/
  • For SC/ ST and Below Poverty Line Animal Keepers :- Insurance Premium Amount is 30%.
• Remaining Amount of Insurance Premium will be paid by the Madhya Pradesh Government to Insurance Companies.
• Eligible Animal Keepers can register their animal for insurance by filling an Application Form of Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana.

• The following benefits will be provided to all animal keepers under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to Animal Keeper in case of death of Insured Animal.

Eligible Animals for Insurance

• The below mentioned animals are eligible of insurance under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana :-
  • Indigenious Breed Milch Cow.
  • Crossbreed Cow.
  • Milch Buffalo.
  • Crossbreed Buffalo.
  • Horse.
  • Donkey.
  • Camel.
  • Male Cattle.
  • Male Buffalo.
  • Goat.
  • Pig.
  • Rabbit.
  • Any Other Animal.

Eligibility

• Animal Keeper should be a Permanent Resident of Madhya Pradesh.
• Animal Keeper should have Animals for Insurance.
• Animal Keeper can Insure Maximum 5 of his/ her Animals.
• Animal Keeper of all caste are eligible for Animal Insurance.
• Following Premium is to be paid by Animal Keeper for Animal Insurance :-
  • 50% of Premium Amount will be paid by Above Poverty Line Animal Keeper.
  • 30% Premium Amount will be paid by SC/ ST and BPL Category Animal Keeper.
  • Remaining Premium Amount will be paid by Government of Madhya Pradesh.

• The following documents is required at the time of registering the animal under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana :-
  • Residence Proof or Domicile of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Samagra ID.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Voter Identity Card.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Ration Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Animal Keepers of Madhya Pradesh can apply for Pashudhan Bima Yojana by filling an Application Form.
• Application Form of Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana will be available free of cost at any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • Gram Sabha.
  • Office of Animal Husbandry Department.
• Fill the Application Form correctly and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the Application Form of Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana along with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Concerned Officials will scrutinized the application form and documents thoroughly.
• After verification, Animal will be marked and get insured.
• Now Beneficiary can claim the amount of insurance if in case their animal died suddenly.

Amount of Premium

Bima Claim Procedure

• If the insured animal is dead due to unforeseen circumstances, then animal keeper can claim the insurance amount of dead animal.
• Financial Assistance compare to the cost of animal will be provided to animal keeper under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana.
• Animal Keeper has to immediately inform the officials of Department of Animal Husbandry in case of sudden demise of insured animal.
• Veterinary Officer of the department will visit the place of animal keeper and inspect the corpse of dead animal.
• After Inspection, Animal Keeper has to fill the Claim Application Form of Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana.
• Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana Claim Application Form will be available free of cost at Department of Animal Husbandry District Office.
• Animal Keeper has to attach all the required documents along with the registration slip.
• Official will verify the claim application form and documents.
• After verification, Financial Assistance under Madhya Pradesh Pashudhan Bima Yojana will be transferred in the bank account of animal keeper.
