Introduction
- PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI) will provide continuous education to bright students of underprivileged section of society.
- Scheme focus on socio-economic development of Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), De-Notified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/SNT) community through Scholarship to students under YASASVI scheme.
- This combined scheme covers Scholarship fees and Hostel fees. There are five sub-schemes under the scheme. Some main schemes are
- Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC,EBC and DNT Students.
- Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC,EBC and DNT Students.
- Top Class School Education for OBC,EBC and DNT Students.
- Top Class College Education for OBC,EBC and DNT Students.
- Students in class IX and class XI, full time in government schools can apply.
- Currently students need to apply through YASASVI entrance test (YET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Students availing this scheme are not eligible for any other government educational scholarship scheme.
- Students will be registered on National Scholarship Portal/ State Scholarship Portal and their database will be maintained by concerned School/Institution.
- Attendance ( minimum 75%) and performance will be monitored by institutions through Portal and Aadhaar Based Attendance System.
- State Government shall pay the scholarship amount directly to beneficiary's linked account.
- 30% fund for girls and 5% for students with disability is allotted.
Objective
Objective of the scheme is to support and empower weaker sections of society through education thereby helping them to live productive, safe and dignified life. It facilitates the completion of education of most vulnerable sections of society. It can help bring the drop-outs back to school for secondary/ higher education.
Eligibility condition
- The student should belong to OBC,EBC or DNT category.
- She/he should be studying in class IX or Class XI.
- His/her Parent/ Guardian's income should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per year.
- She/he should have Aadhaar Card.
- She/he should be a student in a government school.

- Caste Certificate
- Passport Size Photograph.
- Bank Account Details.
- Mobile Number.
- Email ID.
- Mark Sheet of Qualifying Exam.
Information about YASASVI Entrance exam schedule 2021-22
- The scheme is implemented through YASASVI Entrance test (YET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) across India.
- Applicant Should be in class IX Or Class XI.
- Students can apply for test through online mode only at National Testing Agency Portal.
- Scanned Photograph, Signature, Category Certificate, Income Certificate, PwD Certificate (If Disable) should be uploaded in specified file size.
- The test will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 Questions of 4 marks each.
- Entrance Test Comprises questions from :-
- Mathematics (30 Questions).
- Science (20 Questions).
- Social Science (25 Questions).
- General Awareness/Knowledge (25 Questions).
- No negative marking is there in test paper.
- Syllabus of class 8th for admission in class 9th shall come in examination.
- Syllabus of class 10th for admission in class 11th shall come in examination.
- Admit Card would be issued to the candidate through the National Testing Agency (NTA) Portal after verification.
- Candidate can download the admit card from website and should read the instructions on it carefully.
How to apply for Scholarship Registration
- Only qualified students are eligible for registration, following are steps for registration on National Scholarship Portal :-
- Open th National Scholarship Portal and click on New Registration.
- Provide Date of birth as in Aadhaar Card.
- Enter Domicile State.
- Student need to choose right option in Scholarship Category (Pre-matric/Post-Matric/Top Class Scheme/Merit cum Means) option.
- Enter your name as in Aadhaar/10th certificate.
- Enter mobile number to receive SMS.
- Enter Email ID.
- Enter Bank Account Details (Account number and IFSC code)
- Enter your Aadhaar number in Identification Details.
- Then click on submit.
- The Login credential will be sent by the portal to applicant's Mobile Number and Email ID.
- Again Login on National Scholarship Portal with the given credential.
- Upload the needed documents and check your details before submission.
- After verification the scholarship amount will be credited to the applicant account.
