Overview Of The Scheme

  • 5,000 seats for Degree Students.
  • 5,000 seats for Diploma Students.
Amount of Scholarship Rs. 50,000/- per annum per year.
Period of Scholarship
  • Maximum 4 years for Degree Students.
  • Maximum 3 years for Diploma Students.
Eligibility Only girl students are eligible.
Objective To assist girls students financially for pursuing higher education. (Degree and Diploma).
Nodal Agency All India Council for Technical Education.
Nodal Ministry Ministry of Education.
Mode of Applying Only Online Mode Available through National Scholarship Portal.

Introduction

  • Pragati scheme is a 100% centrally funded scheme.
  • It is implemented by All India Council for Technical Education.
  • This scheme is focuses on the education of girls students.
  • Its main aim to provide assistance to girls students financially so that they can pursue their higher education.
  • Scholarship is provided to 10,000 students every year.
  • 5,000 seats is for Degree Students and 5,000 seats is for Diploma Students.
  • The Scholarship amount given to student is Rs. 50,000/- per annum for every year.
  • The maximum time period of the scholarship is 4 years for Degree Students.
  • The maximum time period of the scholarship is 3 years for Diploma Students.

Eligibility Conditions

For Degree Level Course
  • Female Students are eligible.
  • Two girls in a family.
  • The family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per annum.
  • Student taking admission in UG Degree Level course in AICTE approved institutions.
  • First year student or Second year student (admitted through lateral entry) of Degree Course are eligible.
  • The educational institution of the student should be recognized by AICTE.
  • Candidate should not be a beneficiary of any of the Central/State/AICTE sponsored scholarship.
For Diploma Level Course
  • Female Students are eligible.
  • Two girls in a family.
  • The family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per annum.
  • Student taking admission in Diploma Level course in AICTE approved institutions.
  • First year students or Second year student (admitted through lateral entry) of Diploma Course are eligible.
  • The educational institution of the student should be recognized by AICTE.
  • Candidate should not be a beneficiary of any of the Central/State/AICTE approved scholarship.

Document required

How to Apply

  • The only mode to apply for this scheme is through National Scholarship Portal.
  • Candidate have to register themselves first by clicking on New Registration.
  • Candidate have to fill required details :-
    • State of Domicile.
    • Scholarship category whether pre-matric or post matric.
    • Name.
    • Scheme Type.
    • Date of Birth.
    • Gender.
    • Mobile Number.
    • Email Id.
    • Bank IFSC Code.
    • Bank Account Number.
    • Aadhar Number.
  • After Filling all the necessary details, click on Register.
  • With log in credential given to you by portal, Log in to submit your application.
  • Select Pragati scheme, fill all the required details and click on submit the application.
  • The application will be scrutinized by the institution where the girl student is studying and also by the technical education department of the State/UT where the girl student resides and then the selected candidate list will be available on the AICTE Portal.
  • This scheme is subject to renewal, so candidate have to renew their applications every year.

Selection Procedure

For Degree Level
  • Selection will be done on the basis of merit of qualifying examination i.e. 12th or equivalent examination.
  • In case there is a tie on the basis of qualifying marks, the following procedure will be followed to break ties :-
    • The candidate who has higher marks in 10th will be ranked higher.
    • In case 10th marks does not break tie, then the older age candidate will be ranked higher.
For Diploma Level
  • Candidate will be selected through merit of qualifying examination to pursue the Diploma course.
  • Qualifying examination for Diploma course is Class 10th.
  • In case of tie on qualifying marks, the following procedure will be followed to break ties :-
    • Candidate of elder age will be ranked higher.
    • If age does not resolve the tie, then the candidate with lower annual family income will be ranked higher.

Features of the Scheme

  • This scheme is available only once in a year.
  • Aadhar number is mandatory for applying for this scheme.
  • No application will be accepted without valid Aadhar Card.
  • If candidate drop out the course in between, she will not eligible for further scholarship.
  • Scholarship available only for those girl students who are studying in AICTE recognized institutions.
  • The candidate should not be a beneficiary of any Central/State/AICTE scholarship.
  • 10,000 scholarship seats are available for the eligible girls candidates every year.
  • Candidate can avail the benefit of the scheme only in the first and second year of their course.
  • Scholarship amount will be paid to student to assist them for the payment of :-
    • College Fee.
    • Computer Purchase.
    • Desktop.
    • Stationary.
    • Books.
    • Equipment.
    • Software Purchase etc.
  • No additional grant for hostel fees or medical fees will be paid under this scheme.
  • Mode of selection will be purely on merit basis.
  • Girls Students studying technical courses and technical diploma are eligible for scholarship
  • List of short listed candidates will be available on the AICTE web portal.
  • The method for converting CGPA into percentage is by multiplying CGPA with 9.5. (CGPA × 9.5).
  • The amount of scholarship directly paid to the candidate in their bank accounts.
  • If student fail to promote to the next class, their scholarship will be forfeited.
  • It is mandatory to upload promotion certificate of the course at the time of renewal of scholarship application.
  • No documentary proof need to be attached while availing the benefits of the scheme.
  • Reservation provided to candidate is as per Government of India norms.

i got received my scholarship credit message 5 days ago. but still the amount is not credited into my account. bank authorities didn't give a reply what can i do?
