Introduction

Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme aims to promote efficient use of energy at the residential level; enhance the awareness of consumers about the efficacy of using energy efficient appliances and aggregating demand to reduce the high initial costs thus facilitating higher uptake of LED lights by residential users. It may be noted that the scheme was initially labeled DELP (Domestic Efficient Lighting Program) and was re launched as UJALA.

Eligibility

Every domestic household having a metered connection from their respective Electricity Distribution Company is eligible to get the LED bulbs under the UJALA Scheme. There is a limit for every consumer to avail benefit under this scheme, you can check below given list for maximum number of appliance that one can purchase:-

Payment

The consumer can purchase the LED on EMI payment (monthly/bimonthly instalments in electricity bill) or on upfront payment by paying the full amount at designated replacement/ distribution kiosks centers. The consumer needs to carry the following documents to get the UJALA LED bulb:

For EMI or Cash Payment

To purchase an appliance or appliances on EMI or Cash Payment under this scheme the consumer needs to carry below given list of documents.

  1. 2 Passport size photo.
  2. 1 photo copy of your Aadhaar card (Mandatory) and carry your original Aadhaar card as well.
  3. Copy of latest electricity bill

Note:- The address on the Aadhaar card must match with the address on the electricity bill and the balance amount (EMI) will be recovered from the electricity bill.

Warranty

If the LED bulb stops working due to a technical defects, EESL provides free-of-cost replacements for a period of one year. All replacements are done through designated replacement/ distribution kiosks, there are state specific replacement drives that will indicate the retails shops/locations where replacement will be available. I have applied for Led lights 10 numbers and small led for diwali light festival, when will you be able to provide me cash on Delivery, I am almost 80years old and not able to walk distance, kindly if you can provide me at my doorstep.
