West Bengal Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojna

Introduction

• Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana is the social security scheme of West Bengal Government.
• It was launched in the year 2020.
• Earlier this scheme was known by "Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY) - 2017.
• But from 1st of April 2020, Government of West Bengal renamed the scheme name to "Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana.
• This scheme is also called "Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Scheme" or "Bina Mulya Social Security Scheme".
• The main objective behind starting Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana is to provide social security to Unorganised Sector Labour Workers and their families.
• Provident Fund Facility will be provided to beneficiary without paying any premium amount.
• Whereas, In case of Normal or Accidental Death or Disability of Worker due to Accident then West Bengal Government will provide the financial assistance ranging from Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 2,00,000/-.
• Up to Rs. 20,000/- for Treatment of Ailments and Up to Rs. 60,000/- for any kind of Surgery and Up to Rs. 10,000/- for loss of wages due to hospitalisation will also provided to beneficiary under Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana.
• There is also a provision of providing financial assistance for the education of unorganised worker childrens.
• Financial Assistance from Rs. 4,000/- per Year to Rs. 30,000/- per Year will be provided under West Bengal Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana for education of children according to their study category.
• Applicant whose Age is between 18 Years to 60 Years are only eligible to get themselves enrolled under Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana.
• Eligible Beneficiary can also Apply for Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana through Online Application Form and through Offline Application Form also.

Benefits of Scheme

• Facility of Provident Fund without Contributing any Premium.
• Financial Assistance to the beneficiary, or his/her nominee in case of death and disability of beneficiary :-

  Total or Irrecoverable Loss Of :- 1. Both Eyes. 2. Both Hands. 3. Both Feet. 4. Loss of Sight of One Eye. 5. Loss of Use of Hand, or Foot.	Rs. 2,00,000/-
  Total or Irrecoverable Loss Of :- 1. Sight of One Eye. 2. Loss of Use of One Hand, or Foot.	Rs.1,00,000

• Financial Assistance up to Rs. 20,000/- per Year for Treatment of Ailments.
• Financial assistance up to Rs. 60,000/- per Year for Surgery.
• Financial Assistance up to Rs.10,000/- for Loss of Employment to the Beneficiary in case of Hospitalisation :-

• Following Financial Assistance will be provided for the Education of children of Unorganised Workers :-

  Studying in PG (Arts/ Science/ Commerce)	Rs. 10,000/- per Year
  Studying in Polytechnic	Rs. 10,000/- per Year
  Medical / Engineering	Rs. 30,000/- per Year

• Rs. 25,000/- Financial Assistance each up to 2 Daughter to complete UG Education or Equivalent Skill Development Studies.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
• Applicant should be a Unorganised Worker.
• Applicant should belong to Unorganised Working Sector.
• The Age of Applicant should be between 18 Years to 60 Years.
• Applicant should be Registered in Samajik Surakhsha Yojana.

How to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana of West Bengal Government through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of West Bengal Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana is available on scheme Official Website.
• Click on New Registration by Beneficiary to Register.
• Enter the Basic Details about Beneficiary in the Registration Form of Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana.
• Website will then send the User Name and Password on the Registered Mobile Number of Beneficiary.
• Login with the help of received User Name and Password.
• Fill the Application Form of Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana according to the category of beneficiary.
• Upload all the required documents.
• Preview the Application Form then Submit it.
• West Bengal Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana Application Form along with all the documents will verify by the officials of Labour Commissionerate.
• Selected List of Beneficiaries of Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana will then published on the official portal.
• Beneficiary can also check the Application Status of Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana by Log In on the portal.
• Beneficiary can also apply for benefits through Offline Application Form of Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana which is available on any District Office of Department of Labour.

Features

• The period for calculation of average family income will be 12 months prior to the month in which application is made.
• The Students i.e children of beneficiary who will be covered under this scheme cannot avail any other scholarship / grant of the government.
• For Disability benefits medical condition should be certified by Government Hospitals.
• Under the following condition no assistance shall be provided.
  • Intentional self injury, suicide or attempted suicide, insanity or immorality or if the member was under influence of intoxicating liquor, drug or narcotic.
  • Injuries resulting from riots, civil commotions, or racing of any kind.
