West Bengal Karmanjali Scheme

Introduction

• Taking a job in other city and finding a accommodation to live is always a difficult task.
• And if a working women has to find a accommodation for herself, then this task become even more difficult.
• Safety and Security is always be a major concern of working women who works in other city.
• Keeping these things in mind, Government of West Bengal started new scheme called "Karmanjali Scheme".
• It was launched in the year 2019.
• This scheme is also called as "West Bengal Karmanjali Hostel for Working Women" or "West Bengal Working Women Hostel Scheme".
• Housing Department of West Bengal Government is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• West Bengal Government will going to built Hostels for working women under Karmanjali Scheme.
• Hostels built under Karmanjali Scheme will be provided for accommodation to working women for accommodation.
• These hostels will be provided on very nominal rent to working women.
• Any women who is working in Central Government, State Government, Government Undertaking or in a Private Limited Company and not have a place to live in that city are eligible to get low cost rent hostels under Karmanjali Scheme.
• The monthly income of working women should be more than Rs. 5,000/- per month.
• Certificate from employer and from that reputed person who is know to working women is mandatorily needed at the time of applying for hostel facility under Karmanjali Scheme.
• Only female visitors allowed in the hostel room during visiting hours.
• No Visitor is allowed to stay overnight in the hostel.
• Visitors coming to the hostel will have to sign in the visitors register with their name, address, purpose of visit and time.
• Working Women will not eligible to stay at hostel once she attained the age of 60 years or retired from service.
• Eligible Women can apply for hostel room facility on low rent basis under Karmanjali Scheme by applying through Application Form which is available in hostel itself.

Benefits of Scheme

• Working Women of West Bengal will get the following benefits under West Bengal Karmanjali Scheme :-
  • Hostel on rental basis will be Provided.
  • Each Hostel Apartment has One Room, Bathroom, Balcony and Kitchen.
  • Very Low Rent is Applicable.
  • 24 Hour Water Supply in Hostel.
  • Security Guard for adequate security.

Eligibility Criteria

• Women should be a Resident of West Bengal.
• Women should be Working and Earning should not be less than Rs. 5,000/- per Month.
• Working Women should have no residence at her work city.
• Women working in any of the following sectors are eligible for hostel :-
  • Central Government.
  • State Government.
  • Public Sector Undertaking.
  • Private Limited Company.

Document Required

• The following document is required to be attached with the application form at the time of applying for hostel facility under West Bengal Karmanjali Scheme :-
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Certificate from Employer.
  • Certificate from a Reputed Person who known beneficiary for 5 years.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Any working women can apply for low rent hostel under Karmanjali Scheme by filling Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Karmanjali Scheme is available in the Hostels as well as in the District Office of Housing Department.
• Collect the Application Form and fill the basic personal details and working details correctly.
• Attach all the needed documents with the application form.
• Submit the Karmanjali Scheme Application Form with all the documents in the same office form where it was collected.
• Housing Department will scrutinised the received application forms from working women.
• Then as per the availability of hostel rooms, beneficiary working women will be selected.
• Those beneficiaries who got selected for low cost hostel accommodation under Karmanjali Scheme will be informed through SMS on their Mobile Phone.
