West Bengal Matsyajeebi Bandhu Scheme

Introduction

• The Government of West Bengal Launched Matsyajeebi Bandhu Scheme in 2023.
• Matsyajeebi Bandhu Scheme is also known as Matsyajeebi Bandhu (Death Benefit ) scheme .
• Under this Scheme providing One time financial assistant for the deceased fishermen family.
• Only those dead fishermen are eligible under this cheme who do this type of work :-
  • Fish Farmer.
  • Boat Making.
  • Fish Catcher.
  • Hatchery owner in hatchery.
  • Crab Catcher.
  • Crab Fattening.
  • Fish Farms.
  • Fish Vendor.
  • Khuti worker.
• The Nodal Department of this Scheme is Department of Fisheries , Aquaculture,Aquatic Resources and
  Fishing Harbours, Government of West Bengal .
• Under this scheme only those fisherman eligible who registered himself in the fishermen registration portal of department of fisheries, aquaculture , Aquatic Resources and Fishing Hoarbours, government of west Bengal.
• West Bengal government is providing one -time financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh for the deceased fishermen family.
• Those fishermen who died on or after 1 April 2023 will come under this scheme.

Benefits

• Following benefits will be provided under West Bengal Matsyajeebi Bandhu (Death Benefit) Scheme :-
  • Financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh will be provided to the deceased fishermen Family.

Eligibility

• Age of deceased fisherman should be between 18 to 60 year old.
• Registered nominee of deceased registered fishermen will be eligible for apply this scheme.
• Only those dead Fishermen are eligible under this scheme who do this type of work :-
  • Boat Making.
  • Fishery Industry.
  • Fishermen.
  • Stitching fishing nets.
  • Manufacturing Boats.

Document Required

• Domicile of West Bengal.
• Any One Document for Identity Proof of the Deceased fishermen :-
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Pan Card.
  • Passport.
  • Voter card.
  • Driving License.
• Death Certificate.
• Fishermen Registration card of deceased fishman.
• Self Declaration Letter
• First Page of Bank Passbook
• Declaration of natural / legal guardian in case of minor applicant.

Online Apply

• Beneficiary can apply the West Bengal Matsyajeebi Bandhu Scheme through Online Application Form.
• Online application form is available on West Bengal Matsyajeebi Bandhu portal .
• Go to fisherman login .
• Enter the fisherman Registration number of deceased fisherman and phone number of applicant .
• Enter the OTP received through the message in given phone number of applicant .
• After this the application form was open .
• Fill the application form with the correct information .
• After filling the all details of the applicant upload self declaration and no objection certificate obtained from other legitimate heirs.
• After filling all information save and submit .
• You can check the status of your application by going to application status .
• At the next stage , you will be able to see or download the sanction letter, payment letter if it is updated.

Offline Apply

• The applicant can apply the Matsyajeebi Bandhu Scheme by Filling Offline application Form.
• Offline application form is available on the Assistant Director of fisheries of the concerned district.
• Collect the application form with the correct information .
• Attach all the required documents with the application form .
• Submit the application form of Matsyajeebi Bandhu (Death Benefit) scheme along with all documents in the Assistant Director of Fisheries of District.
• Received application forms along with the documents will be verified by the fishery extension officer.
• After verification the nomeni will get the Rs.2,00,000/- in their given bank account.
