Name of the Scheme Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme.
Launched in 1995.

Introduction

  • Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme was launched in year 1995 by Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The scheme was launched with the objective of providing Financial support to the following categories:-
    • Old Age
    • Widows / Divorcees
    • Divyangjans
    • Transgender
  • Under this Scheme beneficiaries will be getting monthly pension of 1000 Rupees.
  • The scheme is only applicable to resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Applicants must be a holder of PPH / AAY Ration Card.
  • Social Welfare Department, Jammu and Kashmir is the sanctioning authority of the scheme.
  • Application need to be submitted online to apply for the scheme.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a permanent Resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Applicant should be a holder of PPH /AAY Ration card.
  • Applicant should not be receiving any Pension / Financial assistance from any other source.
  • Applicants applying for this scheme should fall into the following category:-
    • Old Age
    • Widows / Divorcees
    • Divyangjans
    • Transgender
  • Old Age:-
    • Man of 60 years of age or more.
    • Woman of 55 years of age or more.
  • Widow / Divorcee:-
    • Widow - Woman whose husband has died and is not receiving any other pension from the government.
    • Divorcee - Woman who is legally divorced and not receiving maintenance from her divorced husband.
    • In both the cases Women should not be married again.
    • The applicant should be aged between 40 - 79 years.
  • Divyanjan:-
    • Person having 40% or above physically or intellectual disability.
    • Person should be certified by District Health authority.
    • Age should be between 18 - 79 years.
  • Transgender:-
    • It includes trans-man or trans-woman.

Benefits

  • The eligible beneficiary will be getting monthly pension to maintain their livelihood.
    Beneficiary Pension
    Old Age Rs. 1000 per month
    Widows / Divorcee Rs. 1000 per month
    Divyanjan Rs. 1000 per month
    Transgender Rs. 1000 per month

Documents Required

  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Proof of Age.
  • Residence Proof.
  • Birth Certificate.
  • AAY/PPH Ration Card.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank account Details.
  • Affidavit stating that person is not in receipt of any pension/financial assistance from any other source.
  • For Widow - Death Certificate of husband and non marriage certificate.
  • For Divorcee - Legal evidence of divorce and non marriage certificate.
  • For Divyanjan - UDID Card.
  • For Transgender - Certificate of identity as transgender.

How to Apply

  • To apply for Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme application need to be submitted online at Department of Social Welfare website.
  • Application form can be downloaded from Department of Social Welfare Department website.
  • Fill up the application form and submit all the required documents.
  • District Social Welfare Officer and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer will verify the application and genuineness of documents.
  • The Director(s), Social Welfare Jammu and Kashmir will sanction the pension after successful verification.
  • The amount of pension will be directly transferred into account of the beneficiary through DBT (Direct Bank Transfer).

Features

  • To continue to avail the benefit of the scheme beneficiaries shall submit the following documents:-
    • Life certificate on annual basis in the month of January.
    • For widows / Divorcee, Unmarried Certificate after every three years.
  • Under the following condition, benefits of the scheme will be stopped :-
    • In case of Death of the beneficiary.
    • In case of re-marriage of Widow / Divorcee.
    • In case of change in financial condition of the beneficiary.
    • Migration of beneficiary outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
