Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) is a central government scheme of pension for the senior citizens aged 60 years and above. It was launched to provide social security to elderly persons who attained the age of 60 years.

Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Mandhan Yojana also known as National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons. It is a central government scheme that was introduced on 22 July 2019. This scheme was launched for shopkeeper's /retail traders and self-employed persons for providing monthly minimum assured pension of Rs 3000/- after attaining the age of 60 years. It is meant for old age protection and social security of small Scale traders and Retailers.

Introduction:

National Pension System (NPS) was launched by Government of India on 1st January, 2004. The main objective of the NPS is to provide retirement income to all the citizens of India. It aims to institute pension reforms and to  inculcate the habit of saving for retirement amongst the citizens. NPS has been started for all citizens of India including the unorganised sector workers on voluntary basis.
