West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme

Introduction

• Lots of people has no stable source of income when they enter in their old age stage.
• They faced lots of difficulties financially to take care their daily needs.
• So to provide stable source of income to old age people of West Bengal, a pension scheme was started by West Bengal Government.
• West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme was started in the year 2010.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provided financial support to old age people of West Bengal so that they can have a stable monthly source of income.
• West Bengal Government's Department of Women & Child and Social Welfare is the nodal department of this scheme.
• West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme is also called "Senior Citizen Financial Assistance Scheme of West Bengal" and "Senior Citizen Pension Scheme of West Bengal".
• Government of West Bengal will provide monthly financial assistance as a pension of Rs. 1,000/- per month to all eligible old age beneficiaries.
• Only 60 Years and Above aged people are eligible to get monthly pension under this scheme.
• There is an age relaxation for Disabled Beneficiaries.
• The Upper Age Limit for Disabled Beneficiary is 55 Years.
• Benefit of Old Age Pension will only provided to those beneficiaries who are living in West Bengal for a minimum time period of 10 years.
• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for monthly old age pension by filling the Offline Application Form of West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following benefit will be provided to eligible old age people under Old Age Pension Scheme of West Bengal Government :-
  • Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month to Eligible Old Age Beneficiaries.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant should be a Permanent Residents of West Bengal OR,
• Applicant Should be a Resident of West Bengal for 10 Years.
• The Age of Beneficiary should be :-
  • 60 Years or Above.
  • 55 Years or Above for Disabled Beneficiary.
• The Monthly Income of Beneficiary should be below Rs. 1,000/- per month.

Documents Required

• Documents that are required at the time of applying for per month old age pension under West Bengal Government's Old Age Pension Scheme are as follows :-
  • Voter Identity Card or PAN Card.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Ration Card.

How to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for monthly old age pension by filling West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme Application Form.
• Beneficiary can collect the Old Age Pension Application Form from the below mentioned offices :-
  • Sub Divisional Officer Office in Urban Area.
  • Block Development Officer/ Panchayat Samiti Office in Rural Area.
• Fill the Application Form and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the duly filled Application Form with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will scrutinized by the concerned officials.
• Final Approval will be provided by District Magistrate after initial verification.
• Beneficiary can check their West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme Application Status Here with the help of Application ID.
• Monthly Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary as soon as approved by the District Magistrate.
