About The Scheme

  • Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme is a flagship scheme of Government of Maharashtra for the girls of the State.
  • Lek Ladli Scheme is announced by Finance Minister of Maharashtra Sh. Devendra Fadnavis in his 2023-2024 budget speech.
  • The main objective behind launching Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme is to empower girls and encourage them to complete their basic education.
  • Government of Maharashtra will provided financial assistance of around Rs. 98,000/- on 5 different stages to eligible girl beneficiaries of Maharashtra.
  • Under the Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme, the following financial assistance will be provided to the girls of the state:-
    • Rs. 5,000/- :- At the Time of Birth.
    • Rs. 6,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 1st.
    • Rs. 7,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 6th.
    • Rs. 8,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 11th.
    • Rs. 75,000/- :- When Girl Attain the Age of 18 Years.
  • Families holding any of the below mentioned Ration Card are eligible to avail the benefit of Lek Ladki Scheme :-
    • Yellow Ration Card.
    • Orange Ration Card.
  • Only those Girls Beneficiaries are eligible for Lek Ladki Scheme benefit who are born on or after 1st of April 2023.
  • Through Lek Ladki Scheme, the educational and social status of girls will be strengthened.
  • Lek Ladki Scheme of Maharashtra is also known by other name called "Maharashtra Lek Ladki Yojana" or "Maharashtra Financial Assistance Scheme for Girls".
  • Maharashtra Government gave approval to start Lek Ladki Scheme in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sh. Eknath Shinde.
  • Now very soon the Guidelines of Lek Ladki Scheme will be released by Maharashtra Government.
  • Application Process and Official Guidelines of Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme will be released by the Government of Maharashtra very soon.

Eligibility

  • The following eligibility conditions is needed to be fulfilled in order to avail the benefit of Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme :-
    • Girls Parents should be a Permanent Resident of Maharashtra.
    • Beneficiary should have Yellow or Orange Ration Card.
    • Girl Child should be born on or after 1st April 2023.

  • The below mentioned documents is required at the time of applying for Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme :-
    • Residence Proof of Maharashtra.
    • Aadhar Card of Girl Child.
    • Birth Certificate of Girl Child.
    • Aadhar Card of Girls Parents.
    • Yellow or Orange Ration Card.
    • Bank Account Details.
    • Income Certificate.
    • Passport Size Photo of Girl Child.
    • Mobile Number.

Application Process

  • Maharashtra Lek Ladki Scheme is announced by the Finance Minister of Maharashtra Sh. Devendra Fadnavis in his 2023-2024 budget announcement.
  • Right now it is not clear whether there is an Online Application Procedure or Offline Application Procedure for Lek Ladki Scheme.

I Jaya Girish Wegela, permanent citizen of Mumbai-Maharastra, residing in Goregaon(west) for the last 25 years, mother of Akasita Grish Wegela, having taken the Higher Secondary Certificate (commerce) final exam would like to receive a government grant for the fees for her further education from the various State Government Schemes.
I and my family of four have an orange Rataion Card.
Due to the ill health of my husband, I am the only earning member in my family and survive by doing household work.
Given the above, I would like to appeal to the honorable Chief Minster to please consider my case and grant me some relief for the college fees for the coming year and oblige.
I would also like to present my case along with proof of my husband's health and daughter's education profile to the office of the State Government responsible for granting Education Grants.
I Sir/Madam would lastly like to request you to inform me as to which office of the state government in Mumbai Suburb, should go to and present my case for the above education grant.
