Uttar Pradesh Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme

Introduction

• Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Government of Uttar Pradesh.
• It was launched on 25th of December 2021 at Ekana Stadium of Lucknow.
• Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Limited is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• The main objective behind starting Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme is to encourage students to continue their studies by mixing up with technology.
• This scheme is also known by some other popular names also which are "Uttar Pradesh Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana" or "Uttar Pradesh Free Tablet Scheme" or "Uttar Pradesh Free Smartphone Scheme".
• Government of Uttar Pradesh will now distribute free of cost tablet or smartphone to all eligible students who are currently studying in different educational courses.
• This scheme will be implemented in phased manner and it is to be estimated that around 1 crore students will get free of cost tablet/ smartphone.
• Government will also send the details of education related and career related information on the recieved tablet/ smartphone.
• No amount will be charged from students in order to get smartphone/ tablet under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme of Uttar Pradesh Government.
• Other States students studying in Uttar Pradesh' Educational Institutions are also eligible under this scheme to get free tablet/ smartphone.
• Whereas if a resident of Uttar Pradesh is studying in other state then he/ she is not eligible under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
• Department of Education of Uttar Pradesh Government doesn't give any facility to students to apply by themselves under this scheme.
• Concerned College/ University in which student is studying will make the list of eligible students and forwarded it for consideration.
• Educational Institution of Student will disburse Tablet/ Smartphone to selected students in their premises.
• In case of any help or information regarding Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, Student can contact their concerned College/ University.

• Government of Uttar Pradesh will provide the following benefits to all eligible students under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme :-
  • Free of Cost Tablet or Smartphone will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

• Free of Cost Tablet/ Smartphone under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Program will only provided to those students who are currently studying in any one the below mentioned courses :-
  • Graduation.
  • Post Graduation.
  • Diploma.
  • Skill Development or Higher Education.
  • Technical Education.
  • Technical Education. (Diploma)
  • ITI.
  • Students studying Health Education.

• The specifications of Samsung, Acer and Lava Smartphone and Tablet provided free of cost to students under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme are as follows :-

How to Apply

• Beneficiary Students doesn't have any need to apply separately in order to get free tablet or smartphone under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme of Uttar Pradesh Government.
• No Online or Offline mode is available for students to apply for Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
• Concerned College/ University in which students are studying will prepare the list of eligible students and forwarded it to department for further approval.
• Students selected for the distribution of free tablet or smartphone will be notified through SMS or the list of selected students will be pasted by administration on thier notice board.
• Free Tablet/ Smartphone will be distributed to students in their college/ university campus.
