Introduction

• Startup culture is being promoted not only by the central government but also by various states.
• With this efforts, the state government will develop and nurture new entrepreneurs, which will contribute towards state growth and generate new employment opportunities.
• For such benefits, the Chhattisgarh government has announced the "Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana".
• Under this initiative, the state government will offer an interest free loan up to Rs 50 lakhs to the young entrepreneurs.
• Entrepreneurs can use this loan to establish their enterprises, to build infrastructure and to set up a core incubator-cum accelerator for a maximum duration of 3 years.
• Beneficiaries will receive this loan after applying for Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana online.
• Announced scheme is known by some other names such as 'Chhattisgarh Startup Yojana', or 'Chhattisgarh Startup Scheme'.
• The primary objective of Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana : -

  • to organized boot camps in school and colleges, and
  • to be known as a hub for entrepreneurs.
• Boot camps under the schemes will be organized in all 27 districts.
• Known for its coal industry, Chhattisgarh now aspires to be renowned as a Startup hub, promoting new talent and people.
• Through their startup scheme, the state government aims to provide opportunities to various entrepreneurs.
• Primarily, entrepreneurs indulging in following business will get an edge to receive the scheme benefits : -
  • Sectors of Iron, Steel, Aluminum, and Coal.
  • Technology works on wearable devices.
  • Internet of things.
  • Web and mobile technologies.
  • FinTech.
  • Healthcare Technologies.
  • Renewable Energy.
  • Smart Cities and villages.
• Funds provided under the scheme can be utilized to set up infrastructure, for operational works, and to organize national and international events etc.
• Apart from interest free loan, other benefits are being provided under the Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana.
• Tax paid by the first 36 startups selected under the scheme will be refunded.
• Additionally, these startups will also receive grants including project report, quality certification, technical patent, technology purchase grant.
• These startups will also receive an exemption in electricity duty for the next 10 years.
• To set up industry in the state, an exemption on stamp duty will be provided for the purchase or lease of land.
• Those who set up their micro, small and medium enterprise units in industry parks will receive a 60% subsidy on land.
• Department of Commerce and Industries of the state will be the nodal department for the scheme.
• Eligible applicants can register for the Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana online.

Benefits of Scheme

• Under the Chhattisgarh Startup Yojana applicants will receive following benefits : -
  • Applicants will be provided a loan of Rs 50 lakh.
  • This loan will be provided at zero interest rate.
  • To promote startup culture to the state.
  • Exemption on electricity duty for the next 10 years.
  • Exemption on land duty for the purchase or lease of land.
  • 60% land subsidy for startups set up in industry parks.
  • Establishment of new enterprises and companies will help to generate employment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants who meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria are eligible for Startup Chhattisgarh Yojana : -
  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Chhattisgarh.
  • Applicants should not be declared defaulter by bank for previous loan.

How to Apply

• Eligible applicants can apply for the Chhattisgarh Startup Yojana online.
• Application form for Chhattisgarh Startup Yojana is available at official website.
• Before submitting its applications, applicants need to first register on the portal.
• Select 'Start-Up Registration' link from the home page.
• Enter the required details to complete your registration.
  
• Upon successful registration, the portal will generate the 'User name' and 'Password'.
• Post registration, users need to login with the generated details.
• Tap on the application link from the login window.
• Fill the complete application form with the asked details.
• Upload the requisite documents and submit the application.
• After receiving applications, the nodal authority will verify the details and documents.
• Applicants whose application is accepted by the authority will receive an intimation through SMS.
• Applicants can also track their submitted application status online.
