CBSE UDAAN Scheme

Introduction

• CBSE UDAAN Scheme is the major welfare scheme of CBSE for Girls Students.
• It was launched in the year 2014.
• Central Board of Secondary Education is the nodal agency of this UDAAN Scheme.
• Ministry of Education is the Nodal Ministry of this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to increase the enrollment of girls students in technical educational institutes.
• CBSE UDAAN Scheme gives an oppurtunity to girls students to pursue their career in engineering courses.
• Under CBSE UDAAN Scheme, CBSE will guide and help the enrolled Girls Students to prepare for the Engineering Entrance Examination.
• Only Girls Students studying in Class 11th or Class 12th are eligible to enroll under CBSE UDAAN Scheme.
• Online and Offline weekend classes, Tablets with pre loaded content, and many more benefits will be given to enrolled Girls Students.
• Financial Assistance in the form of Admission Fees and Tution Fees will also be provided to enrolled and selected Girls Students.
• Financial Assistance will only be given after Girls Students secure admission in any IIT, NIT or prestigious engineering college.
• Final Selection under CBSE UDAAN Scheme will solely on the basis of merit.
• Eligible Students can apply for CBSE UDAAN Scheme thorugh online portal of Central Board of Secondary Education.

  • No Admission Fees and Tution Fees if secured admission in IIT, NIT or Prestigious Engineering College.

Eligibility

• Class 11th or Class 12th Girl Students.
• Should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects in Class 11th.
• Should have Secured below mentioned marks in Class 10th :-
  • 70% Overall Marks or a CGPA of 8 and,
  • 80% Marks or CGPA of 9 in Science and Mathematics.
• Annual Income should be not more than Rs. 6 Lakh per annum.
• Girl Students should be studying in any of the following Schools :-
  • Kendriya Vidyalaya.
  • Navodaya Vidyalaya.
  • CBSE Affilliated Private Schools.
  • Government School of Any Recognized Board.

Documents Required

• Passport Size Photo.
• Aadhar Card.
• Residence Proof.
• Birth Certificate.
• Caste Certificate.
• 10th Marksheet.
• 10th Certificate.

How to Apply

• Eligible Girls Students can apply for CBSE UDAAN Scheme thorugh CBSE Main Website.
• Fill the Application Form and take a Print Out of it.
• Candidate will have to submit the Application Form with the documents at City Coordinator of the choosen center.
• The following documents will be needed to attach with the application form :-
  • Undertaking of Studetnn that she is regular student.
  • Annual Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Class 10th Marksheet.
  • Undertaking by Parents.
• After submission, City Coordinator will give the acknowledgement receipt.
• If selected, candidate will be informed through SMS or Email.

Features of the Scheme

• There is also a provision of reservation in CBSE UDAAN Scheme.
• The reservation in CBSE UDAAN Scheme are as follows :-
  • 27 % for OBC (NCL).
  • 15% for Schedule Caste.
  • 7.5% for Schedule Tribe.
  • 3% for PWD in Every Category.
• Pre Loaded Content Tablets will be provided for 24*7 Learning.
• Finacial Assistance in the form of Admission Fees and Tution Fees will be provided under the following conditions :-
  • 75% Attendance is needed in UDAAN weekly assessments in Class 11th and 12th.
  • Student secure admission in IIT, NIT or Centrally Funded Engineering College.
