Gujarat Farmer Accidental Insurance Scheme

Introduction

• Gujarat Farmer Accidental Insurance Scheme is the welfare scheme of Gujarat Government for Farmers of State.
• It was started on 26th January 1996.
• Its main objective is to provide accidental coverage to farmer in case of death or permanent disability due to accident.
• From 01-04-2008, the farmer accidental insurace scheme is implemented by Director of Insurance, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat.
• Department of Agriculture, Farmer Welfare and Cooperation is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Gujarat Farmer Accidental Insurance Scheme, financial assistance will be given in case of death or permanent disability.
• Farmer, his wife and all their children are elgiible to claim the benefit under this scheme.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,00,000/- will be provided in case of death or permanent disability of farmer or any of thier family member.
• Financial Asssistance of Rs. 2,00,000/- will be provied in case of loss of hand, eyes or legs.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,00,000//- will be provided in case of loss of one eye or one limb.
• Family Member aged between 5 to 70 years are eligible under this scheme.
• Death due to Suicide or by Natural Cause are not considered for claim.
• It is mandatory to apply within 150 days from the date of death or date of disability.
• Elgibile Beneficiaries can apply through application form.

Eligibility

• Residents of Gujarat.
• Only Farmer of Gujarat and thier Families are Eligible.
• Age should be between 5 to 70 Years.
• Death and Permanent Disability should be caused due to Accident.

Benefits

The following benefits will be given to Farmer of Gujarat and thier families in case of Death or Permanent Disability caused due to Accident :-

Document Required

• Application Form.
• FIR and Panchnama. (In Case of Death).
• Post Mortem Report. (In Case of Death).
• Death Certificate.
• Disability Certificate. (In Case of Disability).
• Indemnity Bond.
• Aadhar Card of Deceased/Disabled.
• Aadhar Card of Claimant.
• Age Proof.
• Bank Details.

How to Apply

• The only way to apply under Gujarat Accidental Insurance Scheme is through Application Form.
• Take a Application Form from District Agriculture Officer or District Panchayat Office.
• Fill the Application Form properly and attach all the required documents.
• Submit the application form and all the documents in the office of District Agriculture Officer or District Panchayat Office.
• Application Form and Documents will be scrutinized by the official.
• After verification the amount of assistance will be transferred in the given bank account of claimant.
