Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme

Introduction

• Maharashtra Government presents it supplementary budget on 28th of June 2024.
• While presenting the budget, Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sh. Ajit Pawar announced lots of welfare schemes for the people.
• One of the major welfare scheme announced for the farmers of Maharashtra is "Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme".
• The main objective of this scheme is to increase the income of farmers of State by providing them subsidy in electricity bills.
• Other known names of this scheme are "Mukhyamantri Baliraja Mufat Vij Yojana" or "Maharashtra Chief Minister Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme for Farmers" or "Mukhyamantri Baliraja Vij Savlat Yojana".
• Agriculture Department of Maharashtra Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• And Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MAHAVITARAN) is the implementing agency of scheme.
• Farmers of Maharashtra will now get free of cost electricity for agricultural use.
• No Electricity Bill will be paid by farmers if they are using the Agricultural Water Pumps up to the capacity of 7.5 HP.
• Mahavitaran Company Limited will issue zero amount electricity bill in favour of all the eligible farmers.
• The timeline of implementation of Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme to Farmers is from April 2024 to March 2029.
• So this means that, Electricity Bill of 3 months i.e. from April to June will also waived off by the Government of Maharashtra under its Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme.
• It is to be estimated that around 44.06 lakh farmers will get the benefit of zero amount electricity bill under Maharashtra Government's Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Scheme for Farmers.
• A budget of Rs. 14,761/- crore is sanctioned for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
• Beneficiary Farmer can apply for Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme for Agricultural purpose by filling the Application Form which is available in the office of Mahavitaran Company Limited.
• Zero Amount Electricity Bill to farmers under Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme will be issued from July 2024.

Benefits of Scheme

• Farmers of Maharashtra will get the following benefits under Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme :-
  • Free Electricity for Agricultural Use will be Provided
  • No Electricity Bill will have to pay to those farmers who is using up to 7.5 HP Water Pump.

Eligibility Criteria

• Free Electricity to use Agricultural Water Pump up to 7.5 HP will be provided to those farmers who fulfil the following eligibility conditions of Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme :-
  • Applicant should be a Farmer.
  • Farmer should be a Permanent Resident of Maharashtra.
  • Farmer should be using Agricultural Water Pump of up to 7.5 HP.
  • Farmer should be using Electricity Connection of Mahavitaran Company.

Documents Required

• Farmers will have to attach the following documents with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme of Maharashtra Government :-
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Electricity Connection Number.
  • Latest Electricity Bill.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Electricity Pump Photo.

How to Apply

• Eligible farmers can apply through Application Form to avail the benefit of free electricity to use agricultural pump under Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme.
• Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme Application Form is available at any Zonal or District Office of Mahavitaran Company which is providing electricity in Maharashtra.
• Collect the Application Form, Fill it Correctly and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme Application Form along with all the documents in the same Mahavitaran Company Office.
• Officials of Mahavitaran Company will verify the received Application Form and Documents.
• List of farmers who used up to 7.5 HP agricultural water pump will be made.
• Mahavitaran Company will then waive off the 3 months bill of electricity from April.
• Also company will issue zero amount electricity bill under Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme to those farmers who are using agricultural water pump up to 7.5 HP.
• Mukhyamantri Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme is going to cover the electricity bill of farmers from April 2024.
