Introduction

• Since the dawn of Artificial Intelligence, it has become very difficult for individuals to secure an employment without any major skill.
• Lacking necessary skills is the main reason youths are not being hired by the companies or sectors.
• Dominant in labour force, Jharkhand educated youths are unable to secure employment these days, thus facing numerous difficulties.
• Addressing this issue, the Jharkhand Government has announced 'Saksham Jharkhand Kaushal Vikas Yojana' (SJKVY).
• Scheme is popular by other names such as, 'Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana', or 'Saksham Kaushal Yojana Jharkhand', and 'Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana'.
• Jharkhand Kaushal Saksham Yojana is one of the 4 sub schemes of the 'Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Sarthi Yojana'.
• Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana aims to provide quality skill training to the eligible youth of Jharkhand at no cost.
• Eligible youth can receive training from 72 residential and non-residential training centers established across the state.
• The minimum duration of course under the Scheme is 300 hours, includes 40 hours to IT and soft skill.
• Scheme offers training under various sectors and trade such as Tourism and Hospitality, Security, Retail, Plumbing, Telecom, Logistics, Domestic Worker, IT/IES, Electronics, Goods and Capital, Beauty and wellness, BFSI, Automotive, Apparel and Agriculture, Healthcare, Food Processing, Iron and Steel, and Mining.
• Applicants can opt any trade as per their choice and interest.
• To implement the scheme throughout the state the government appoints Skill Development Mission Society its nodal department.
• However, it is mandatory for all beneficiaries to meet the eligibility criteria of Saksham Jharkhand Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
• Scheme is launched throughout the state and is available to domiciled residents of Jharkhand aged between 18-35 years.
• Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana comes with additional features such as travel and employment allowance.
• Such allowances will be credited directly into the bank account of beneficiaries through DBT mode.
• Travel allowances under the Saksham Jharkhand Kaushal Vikas Yojana will be given to applicants whose training centers are non-residential.
• Under this travel allowance, each beneficiary will receive 1,000/- Rs monthly until the completion of training.
• Whereas, Rozgar Protsahan Bhatta will be received by those students who do not get employment within three months of completing their training.
• This Rozgar Protsahan Bhatta will be provided to each applicant for the period of one year.
• Under this, boys will receive Rs 1,000/- per month, while girls/disabled/transgenders students will receive Rs 1,500/- per month.

Benefits of Scheme

• The government will provide following benefits under the Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana : -
  • Free Skill Development Training.
  • Employment allowance for those who do not secure a job within three months of completing their training.
  • A monthly employment allowance of Rs 1,000/- to boys and Rs 1,500/- to girls/disabled/transgender individuals.
  • Transportation allowance for those whose training center are non-residential.
  • Uniforms, handbooks and other essentials will be provided free of cost to all trainees.

Eligibility Criteria

• Authorities have set some eligibility criteria for the 'Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana', which must be fulfilled by the beneficiaries : -
  • Applicants must be a domiciled resident of Jharkhand.
  • Age of the beneficiaries should be in the age group of 18-35 years.
  • Maximum age for the beneficiaries of SC/ST/OBC applicants is 50 years.
  • Beneficiaries must have completed at least 5th grade.

How to apply

• Eligible applicants can apply for the Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana through its online registration.
• To register online for Jharkhand Saksham Kaushal Vikas Yojana, beneficiaries need to visit Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society Website.
• On the home page, select the 'Registration' tab and 'Candidates Registration' link from its dropdown.
• Applicants need to create their profile first, where they need to provide their details.
  
• Submit these details and login with generated 'Username' and 'Password'.
  
• Portal will validate your details through OTP verification.
  
• Next, select the Registration link from the user dashboard.
• Applicants profile details can be viewed and edited at this stage.
• Next, user need to submit their : -
  • Personal details.
  • Contact Information.
  • Academic Details.
• After submitting these details press the submit tab and your registration id will be generated.
