West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme

Introduction

• Taruner Swapna Scheme is the educational reform scheme of West Bengal Government.
• It was started in the year 2022.
• The main objective behind launching Taruner Swapna Scheme is to facilitate the students to connect their studies with technology.
• West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme is also known by some other major names in State as mentioned below :-
  • "Taruner Swapno Scheme".
  • "Taruner Swapno Prokolpo Scheme".
  • "Taruner Swapna Prokolpa Scheme".
  • "Taruner Swapno Prakalpa Scheme".
  • "Taruner Swapna Prakalpa Scheme".
• Under Taruner Swapna Scheme, Government of West Bengal will provide financial assistance to students to purchase Tablet/ Smartphone/ PC.
• Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to students under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme to purchase any of the below mentioned gadget for their study :-
  • Smartphone / Mobile Phone.
  • Tablet.
  • Personal Computer. (PC)
• Student can use this purchased Smartphone/ Tablet/ PC to study online and prepare better for their board exams.
• Initially, only Class 12th Students studying in Government Run Schools or Madrasahs of West Bengal Government are eligible to get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- under Taruner Swapna Scheme.
• But from the year 2024-2025, West Bengal Government make certain amendments in this Taruner Swapno Scheme.
• Now Students of Class 11th are also eligible to apply for financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to purchase smartphone/ mobile phone or tablet PC under Taruner Swapna Scheme of West Bengal Government.
• From the year 2024-2025, Both Class 11th and Class 12th Students can apply for the benefit of Taruner Swapna Scheme.
• Rs. 900/- Crore is allocated for the year 2024-2025 for the better implementation of Taruner Swapno Prakalpa.
• Only those Students are eligible to apply whose Annual Family Income is below Rs. 2,00,000/- per year.
• This is a One Time Grant from the side of Government of West Bengal.
• Till date more than 3.67 crore students gets the benefit of free of cost smartphone/ tablet/ PC under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme.
• Around 9.7 lakh students avail the benefit of Taruner Swapna Scheme in the year 2023-2024.
• At present there is no separate online application procedure of Taruner Swapna Scheme is available right now.
• Also there is no Website of Taruner Swapna Scheme is available.
• Eligible Students details will be forwarded by the concerned schools to department for scrutiny.
• After verification, Selected Students will get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to purchase Smartphone/ Tablet/ PC under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme.
• Taruner Swapna Scheme is a DBT Scheme in which financial assistance will be directly transferred in the bank account of beneficiary student.
• And it is mandatory to submit the purchased bill of Smartphone/ PC/ Tablet in the school.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following benefits will be provided to eligible students under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to Purchase Smartphone or Tablet or PC.

Eligibility Criteria

• Student should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal.
• Students of Class 11th and Class 12th are eligible to apply.
• The Annual Family Income of Student should not be more than Rs. 2,00,000/- per Year.
• The Student should not have any backlogs and passed all their previous examinations.
• Student should be studying in any of the below mentioned Schools :-
  • Government of West Bengal Schools.
  • Government of West Bengal Aided Schools.
  • Government of West Bengal Sponsored Schools.
  • Government of West Bengal Recognised Madrasahs.

Documents Required

• The below mentioned documents is required to avail the benefit of financial assistance for the purchase of Smartphone/ Tablet/ PC under West Bengal Government's Taruner Swapna Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof of West Bengal.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • School Identity Card.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

• To get the financial assistance under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme, Student has to contact the school administration.
• School Administration fill the Students Application Form of Taruner Swapna Scheme.
• Then School Administration has to upload the details of all the eligible students of Class 11th and Class 12th on Banglar Shiksha Portal.
• Concerned Officials will scrutinised the received Taruner Swapna Scheme Application Form.
• Selected Students list will be forwarded to concerned schools.
• Then Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to purchase Smartphone/ PC/ Tablet under West Bengal Taruner Swapna Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of students.
• After Purchase of Smartphone/ Tablet or PC, Student has to submit the purchased bill in the school.
