Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Udayman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana

Introduction

• The Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Udayman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana was introduced by the Uttarakhand government in 2022.
• The Uttarakhand Sports Department is the nodal department for this scheme.
• The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to deserving young players who are unable to continue their studies due to financial constraints.
• The state government provides a monthly scholarship of Rs. 1,500 for 1 year through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
• Under this scheme, 3900 students are selected by the state government annually.
• Each district selects 150 boys and 150 girls for the scheme.
• To avail the benefits of the scheme, candidates must pass the selection procedure set by the concerned department.
• Applicants must be between 8 years to 14 years of age to apply under the scheme.
• The selection process is conducted annually by the Uttarakhand Sports Department from May 15 to June 15.
• Videography is conducted during the selection process to prevent any discrepancies.
• If any candidate has objections to the selection process, they can register their objection in writing with valid evidence before the selection committee within one hour after the competition.

Benefits

• The following benefits will be provided to the eligible beneficiary under the Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Udayman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana:-
  • Monthly scholarships will be provided to eligible young sports players.
  • Every month, Rs. Rs 1,500 will be provided for 1 year.
  • The state government will select 3900 candidates.
  • 150 boys and 150 girls will be selected from each district.

Eligibility Criteria

• Those beneficiaries who meet all the following conditions are eligible to apply for the Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Udayman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana:-
  • Applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Applicant's age must be between 8 years to 14 years.
  • Both males and females are eligible to apply for this scheme.
  • Applicant must be registered at the Nyaya Panchayat or ward level.
  • Candidates who are receiving training in sports hostels or sports colleges under the Sports Authority or State Government are not eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • Candidates are selected based on the following physical abilities:-
    • 30 Meter Flying Run.
    • Standing Broad Jump.
    • Forward Bend and Reach.
    • 6 x 10 Shuttle Runs.
    • Medicine Ball Putt.
    • 600 Meter Race.

• Submit the application form with attachments for verification by the department's constituted committee.
• If the application is verified and deemed true, the applicant will proceed to the selection process.
• Information about the selection procedure will be communicated to the candidate.
• Finally, selected candidates will receive the benefits of the scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode from the district sport offices.
