Rajasthan Free Laptop Scheme

Introduction

• Rajasthan government is implementing several scholarship schemes for students in the state.
• One of the scheme is "Rajasthan Free Laptop Scheme" started in 2013.
• The main objective of this scheme is to encourage students to use technology for better education.
• This scheme is also recognized by other names:-
  • Rajasthan Free Laptop Yojana.
  • Rajasthan Free Laptop Distribution Scheme.
  • Rajasthan Nishulk Laptop Yojana.
• The Department of Secondary Education is the nodal department for this scheme.
• Eligible students from each district will receive free laptops under this scheme.
• The laptops provided under the scheme are completely free of cost to the students.
• Free laptops are given to those students who are studying in Rajasthan's government schools.
• Eligible students are those in 8th, 10th, and 12th grades.
• The scheme's annual aim is to distribute 27,900 laptops.
• Eligibility criteria include achieving at least 75% marks at the state level or higher, and at least 70% marks at the district level or higher.
• There is no need for students to submit applications to receive the benefits of free laptops.
• Selection of students for free laptops is based on eligibility criteria set by the Secondary Education Board.

Benefits of Scheme

• Eligible students will get the following benefits under the Rajasthan Free Laptop Scheme:-
  • Eligible students studying in 8th, 10th, and 12th grades will receive laptops provided by the Rajasthan government.
  • Students do not need to pay any amount for these laptops.

Eligibility Criteria

• Student must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
• Family's annual income should not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh.
• Students must be studying in a state government school.
• Students studying in the following classes will be eligible to receive free laptops:-
  • 8th
  • 10th
  • 12th
• Students achieving the following percentages will receive free laptops under this scheme:-

  For State Level Merit List	75 percent or more marks in class 8th. 75 percent or more marks in class 10th. 75 percent or more marks in class 12th.
  For District Level Merit List	70 percent or more marks in class 8th. 70 percent or more marks in class 10th. 70 percent or more marks in class 12th.

Number of Laptop Distribution

• Under Rajasthan Free Laptop Distribution Scheme, 27,900 laptops will be distributed every year in the following manner: -

Documents Required

• The following documents are required to receive the free laptop under the Rajasthan Free Laptop Scheme:-
  • Address proof.
  • Marksheet of class 8th/ 10th/ 12th.
  • Aadhar card.
  • Income certificate.
  • Identity card.
  • Passport size photo.
  • Mobile number.

How To Apply

• Under the Rajasthan Free Laptop Scheme, students do not need to apply for the scheme.
• After the declaration of board results, the department will prepare the list of students.
• After that, students will be informed by their schools.
• Through district functions, free laptops will be distributed to eligible students.
